TvC arcade stick or use a PS2/GC adapter and a PS2 stick, they tend to be cheap. Stick with Hori if you want quality. This is primarily the reason why I'd like to see keyboard support in the Wii version is so keyboard encoders could be used.
great idea thnx the ps2 ones are better and cheaper never thought of the adaptor ty

NOW PLEASE PEOPLE - DON'T DRIVE ME NUTS AGAIN LIKE THIS - IF IT TAKES A DAY LONGER IT'S GOING TO TAKE A DAY LONGER - PERIOD - NO QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ASKED, NO NOTHING. ALLOW ME TO STILL ENJOY WORKING ON THIS PROJECT INSTEAD OF FEELING LIKE WORK.

EDIT: Previous link didn't have FBA Cores CPS2/Neo - now it does.

I won't bother you, I just need some clarification about how audio is handled now.

So does this mean that both Snes9x Next and Genesis Plus use the new audio sampler? Because the test that changed it from 48 to 44 KHz didn't remove the tinny audio, changing it from the Hermite to the 128 kb 8-tap Sinc sampler did. I'm not going to heckle you again, but I thought these new versions use the new audio sampler. Is the sampler changeable in the menu?

They do use the new resampler - and the resampler is changeable in the menu. You can still set it back to Hermite although I don't see why you would want to - I've found actually that Hermite overall severely degrades audio quality and even leads to distortion in some cases (like Konami intro sound, like Neo-Geo intro sound, like CPS3 intermission screens, and on and on).

Check it out and let me know if it fixes it. It certainly does fix the Konami intro sound on NTSC SNES ROMs - it also fixes the 'weird' Neo-Geo intro sound (well, it sounded weird on Hermite before, it doesn't on sinc). Overall, it sounds a whole lot better on nearly everything.

So at least the remarks about 'tinny sound' led to something constructive in the end - it would have likely gone unnoticed before.

Sorry about that, I wasn't sure. I'll never bother you about it again. Thanks for the hard work B-) Star Fox at full speed? Yes please. You guys did what Nintendon't do, your work puts the Virtual Console to shame.:P

THANK YOU!! And I'm sorry for the anxiety and other negative feelings you get sometimes. I think a good dose of "ignore or block" will have to do if you feel that way, no reason to feel that way, you guys are awesome. Thanks,

Its all that the_randomizer's guys fault. He's the one posting crazy stuff and then backpedaling on his post and deleting them. Don't blame everybody.

Now, people please no derail and needlessly dramatize this thread again, it's disrespectful to the work of the developers.
Seriously for Wii we now have 4 cores down (ie absolutely perfected), onwards to the rest, mainly VBA and MAME.
There are always pm's to resolve any issues between members.

Retroarch and Toadking thank you once again for the update.

VBA won't be perfected.

Its code is too lame. ie: badly coded, etc.
I stopped doing VBA stuff due to how tiring working with the code is.

There is no reason why something with a better design/intended for embedded platforms like gpsp can't be ported.

Makes me wonder HOW Squarepusher and co do it. They have patience like a saint: sadly I have the patience of Paris Hilton (meaning: none).

Patience is one helluva virtue these guys have, and heaps of it. Something I need to work on, bad, real bad. As for GBA emulation getting better, I recall hearing LibretroRetroarch mentioning the possibility of porting gPSP (not sure if that's the name), over to the Wii since the speed and compatibility was much better than that of VBA. But, seeing as, uh, things got messy these past couple of days, I'd best lay low. ;) They did the impossible, making Star Fox running full speed without frame skipping on the Wii's CPU, something Nintendo didn't even have the balls to do.

Thanks a lot for this great update! Retroarch is a great project.

I would like to propose a Menu flow:

gxsr9xi5.jpg

I tested the Xbox360 Retroarch Verison which already delivers a Menu for retroarch.

A Home Menu for the wii would be perfect in addition to quick buttons (and to choose between quick buttons or the menu) especially if the user forgot which buttons to use to enter a dedicated menu or to load the savestates.
Also if you are playing a game it could happens to hit by accident the wrong buttons (for savestate loading).

I don't want to say the quick buttons are a bad feature. I like this feature. But the possibility to disable the quick buttons and the enable a Home Menu (the Menu opens if the user presses the Home button) would be a really great addition.

Concerning memory. I fully agree to avoid a GUI with buttons, animations etc., but a general basic Text Menu should be possible.

Thanks a lot for your efforts and your progress.

Menu idea looks cool, but at the moment their main focus will probably be on optimising cores, adding title support for rom names, virtual memory support for loading larger Neo Geo roms etc.

Haven't downloaded the latest build yet, looking forward to trying it after work!

Just wanted to thank LibretroRetroArc and ToadKing for their great work, I've been lurking this thread for a few weeks following the development and I feel it's about time to show my appreciation. This latest update was the icing on the cake, keep up the great work guys!

I rather enjoy a life of taking it easy. I haven't reached that life yet though.
