is there a way to get back to the main option to choose games and stuff without turning off the ds?
 
im sure you have to enable soft reset for each game, but for homebrew you have to turn off the ds
 
You can set the soft reset as a global option which is easier. The AKAIO wiki shows you which buttons presses do the soft reset.
