Hacking [REQUEST] Tool to change rom order of .3ds and .3dz files on Gateway Launcher.

Hi,

I have tried changing the name of the 3ds/z rom files both w/ letters and numbers and I dont seem to find a way to change the order of how the roms appear when launching the gateway menu (select button) under emunand.

There is a tool already (Gateway 3ds Rom Sorter beta) but it only detects .3ds files and not .3dz.

Does anyone know how to modify the order of the rom files?

the diy way should be to move all roms in a subfolder, dragging them back out again (after syncing aka "ejecting") in the order you want them.

Oh that is quite simple would that be - first dragged out first to appear ?

IIRC yes. haven't used my gateway in quite some time now though, installed CIAs are IMHO just way more comfortable.

edit: and I think that worked, not 100% sure though. so better try it with two roms first before you shuffle all of them

That is true, and I saw a post on converting 3ds to cia files and I got really excited, but how would you extract save files from cia files already installed on the system?
(Since corrupting SD cards or other issues with rom files can be really common I like to back up and/or edit save game files )

there is an official backup feature for installed games saves.

when a game is hilighted and stopped press the arrow in the bottom left, click on save backup (or something along those lines) and create backup.

Forgot to mention drawback though: there is an quite low limit to save backups (25 IIRC).

location of the "backup" folder containing the saves is "Nintendo 3DS\[individual ID]\[more individual ID]\backup" on the SD card

And is that a .sav file or is the save as if we were using SAVeFL?

.sav, IIRC encrypted. If you want to edit them AFAIK you'll need to use the savedatafiler to dump them.

Correct, and savedatafiler does not allow to dump from cia file correct? or does it now?

That actually only works for .3ds files, and since I have most of mine w/ a modified header they are .3dz now and the application doesnt detect .3dz files for some reason.
