Hacking Report your experiences with DVD DL on the Wii

I'm bumping this thread because I really want some reports on the PAL release, particularly if you have the following!

PAL Wii 3.3 E
Cyclowiz 3.6

aone dual layers that i burned the original usa version iso on have stopped working, as soon as it loads the game gets a green screen and says the disc cannot be read even after i eject and re insert the dual layer, it sucks

ImgBurn, 4x
Wii with chip OPENWii, then with WASABI

Iso have updates removed, it's WiiZaRD one...disc is not reconised. F**k
DVD5 works fine (of course without cutscenes), also I cannot clear Classic Mode with Yoshi.

Also, when I try to open disc with GeckoOS it says 'NO DVD'

DVD-R DL in general has awful computability in drives.

Get yourself some DVD+R DL and burn it in a modern drive.

NTSC SSBB on MKM001 +R DL is fine with my Wasabi on a PAL wii.

I'll try but there (POLAND) we still use diskettes (yes, really!) and CDs and no one even knows what's DVDDL disc

I was once in huge computer shop, and I asked for DVDDL. Shopkeeper said : What??

Gave up trying to burn onto dual layer, used the dvd9-->dvd5 patch. save time, money, wear and tear on the laser, all for skipping a few generic looking movies. Works for me!

what pisses me off is the loading time

like 1 minute to get back from character selection?

1- someone know if SSBB Pal release works with:
PAL Wii 3.3 E
Argon (wasabus)

and if yes, how i can burn it with imgburn: I must select a layerbreak or let the auto layer break?

Pal 3.2E yaosm 1.9 japaneese dvd5 works and all dvd9 no with imgburn nero with and with layerbreaker, verbatim dvd+R DL....
Don't even show the banner...

Yep, me too on both.

I've only got one DL, so I want to get it right on attempt #1.

Currently whats the situation with this?

Does this work with a softmod? Does it work with cIOSX rev21d2x? Is the layer break at 2084960 neccesary? Do we set the booktype of the DVD+R DL to DVD-ROM?

For the cost of one 10-pack of DVD-R(DL)'s you could get an 8GB or 16GB flash drive that will hold SSBB and some other games.

I told them a USB HDD was better but they refused to listen. Cant force it down their throat.
