Hi, I'm trying to use Spiik to enforce the Wii U VC version of Xenoblade Chronicles (US version) to boot in English on my Japanese Wii, but it doesn't work.

It seems it doesnt change the game languages, just spoof some region settings.
Thanks anyway, continue with the hard work :yayu:

The language spoof works for games using UCReadSysConfig. It seems some games do not use it. I am investigating other ways to spoof the language for such games.

Japanese DS VC seem to get stuck into when i change my region to JPN and language to Japanese.
I will try with JPN/English i guess...

Out of curiosity will this allow the eShop channel to allow purchases from Japan? Reason being, I'd like to purchase tickets to use with Karaoke Joysound Wii-U

It somewhy doesn't work for me :( Do I NEED to use redNand or such? I've installed Haxchi, but no CFW. If I trey to change the settings from eur to USA, it just doesn't change anything :(

To be able to launch other regions games, you still need cfw. This app just spoofs the region you want to the game, AFTER the game is run.

could you please help me out? I am new to wiiu hacking. What exactly do i need to do to get spiik to work?
Custom Firmware like Mocha CFW [redNAND OFF], Haxchi CFW or CBHC CFW.
While being in these, launch Spiik then launch a game.
If game has compatible language files for x region then it will boot, if not, it will be stuck in a bootloop.

Sadly I have had no luck getting this to work on my Japanese Wii U. I have a few European games installed (Pikmin 3 is probably the best example for this) and despite being an install of an English game, it always displays in Japanese exclusively. I have tried EUR / ENG and USA / ENG as my configurations in Spiik, no luck.

This has to do how the game checks the system language. Tnank you for reporting this game as not working. As soon as I find some free time, I will try reversing the game and check how it retrieves the system language.

Anyway, with spiik activated (just language, region was untouched) BOTW froze exiting from a shrine.

Here are some games I tested on Japan WiiU with MochaCFW

Fixed:
Zelda Twighlight Princess HD (USA)- Fixed Text from Japanese to English
NES Remix 2 (USA) - Fixed Freeze on Startup
Wii Party U (USA) - Fixed Freeze

Broken:
Star Fox Zero (USA) - Black Screen
Mario Party 10 (USA) - Freeze at Title
PikMin 3(USA) - Language remains in Japanese

Good tool for switching language in-game without going through long system settings process. Did not crash. A+ homebrew would use again. Available in the homebrew app store and not yet as a channel forwarder.
