I just tried the port, and great work, it works amazing,
but there's just one thing that seems off and that's the stereoscopic 3D.

It looks like the level itself isn't 3D. Like the game draws the HUD in 3D at the front, then the level is flattened and drawn in the middle, and then the sky in the back.

So it's like 3 pages of depth. Would it be possible to have the level itself be drawn in full 3D instead of flattened?

Thanks! If you could have it do proper 3D that'd be amazing!

You are right, the HUD is always drawn at the front with zero depth and the sky is just really far away, but actually the level itself is drawn in 3D.
Maybe you have to fiddle with the 3D slider and the focal length settings in the in-game menu (Options -> Video Options -> GPU Options) to adjust it for your needs. The default value is just set to what I found looked good (and similar to ZOoT's 3D effect).

Any chance of this port being updated to support v2.2 of SRB2? This is a really nice port, but 2.2 added a lot of long-needed polish to the game's overall presentation.

How well does this run on a New 3DS? I ask because the Wii port runs very poorly on some of the zones, but I will be willing to give this version a shot if it runs decently

Hey there!
Without further ado...

Latest Release (3dsx and CIA): https://github.com/derrekr/srb2_3ds/releases

Changelog:

v1.1.3
  • HUGE performance increase thanks to mipmapping
  • stereoscopic 3D rendering
  • initial CIA support
  • fixed graphics glitch that was caused by uninitialized GPU shadow state registers
  • fixed fog color
  • fixed hole in GFZ2
  • fixed crash when DSP firmware is missing
  • ... other miscellaneous fixes
v1.0 beta
  • Initial release

Installing
  • Download the srb2_3ds archive from the latest release on Github and extract the files to /3ds/srb2_3ds on your SD card.
  • Download SRB2's game files here or from srb2.org and extract them to /3ds/srb2_3ds as well. You may also copy the files to the root directory, but make sure config.cfg is located in the same directory as the game files.
Only New3DS is supported at the moment.
Please check the repo's README.
