Homebrew [Release] Linux for the 3DS

Is Linux actually working on your New 3DS? I've got an N3DSXL on the newest firmware (Luma 9.1.7, bootstrap9 and well, the latest 3DS system version), my problem is that Im unable to change the input mode even while pressing select plus the 'weston environment(?)' there im unable to start the terminal, did you fixed the issue, and if so could you maybe upload your latest build, please?

Or does your WiFi works on your 3DS with Linux?

I also have the same issue as you, but it's just the Linux environment. You'll get nothing out of it for the moment, except a moving cursor...

The biggest problem is not having proper disk IO so everything must reside in a RAM disk. Until this is solved it's nothing but a toy.

tbh thats not really a problem for me if the GUI wont work but would it possible to select the input mode, this would help me alot

This should be fixed as soon as possible, thats true but wont it be always a toy? I mean the hardware is awful at todays standards.

to tinker around, its a pain in the ass to type every single character while using the touchscreen.

This is part of the loader, which is out of my hands. IIRC that's part of arm9linuxfirm, which i'm not touching. Also, the Wi-Fi will come after I get the proper dev tools on the system so that a driver can be made.

My current roadblock is the toolchain doing weird things and not wanting to work at all, although it gets further into the process sometimes. It's almost moody sometimes, but it always fails because every version of one executable in the toolchain @xerpi pointed to (or in a toolchain that I build myself) doesn't support a single flag ("-quiet"), so not even the "known-good" @xerpi source code works.

I upgraded from a Class 3 SD card to a Class 10 card, but that was mainly due to the size increase more than anything (16 → 128GB) so it'd have to be higher. Anyways, this is a shock, as it's clearly not locked to 1.1MiB/s at the hardware level like I thought. With a fast enough card, swap would absolutely be possible!

You might want to check out the updated SDMMC code in GodMode9. Apparently it's faster than the stock code in the firmware.
