I have a suggestion based on something i discovered with how i set this up with OBS. Is it possible to separate the top and bottom 3ds screens into separate windows (one titled top and other titled bottom for an example?) when ntr viewer is loaded up?. Doing this would let me use game capture to capture both screens instead of doing window capture. This slightly would make obs capture everything more efficiently (and reduce any screen tearing) This was based on my cpu's processing % when looking at game capture vs window capture for other games. Now if i'm completely wrong, well... dw about this then :P

Use Window Capture instead of Game Capture to NTRViewer. I had a problem like that before and figured it out.

This is really interesting. I haven't tried Nitrostream yet, but I'm excited to try this. Can't wait to play JRPGs on a bigger screen.

I don't think you read my entire point, I already use window capture for catching NTRviewer. My point of wanting to use game capture is to use less of your cpu's threads to capture the program and (theoretically) reduce any screen tearing that happens quite frequently with window capturing.

I've got it setup, but NTRViewer opens in a blank screen. What might be going wrong?

EDIT: Got it to work by disabling Luma's Clock+L2 enhanced mode, but only got 3~10 FPS. What can I do to increase it?

So the PKMN-NTR InputRedirectionNTR.CIA hangs CTR-V when it tries to connect. Order I used was:
Run InputRedirectionNTR
Run BootNTRSelector
Run Pokemon Sun
Select save file, go into game
Home Menu
Try to connect
(hangs here)

So no luck there :/
It's probably hanging cause The IP changes, It changes every now and then, In FING click the bottom right button to re-fresh.

Possibility for android port, it be nice for android tv if possible :)
I highly dought this will happen, I could make CTR-V work for android/ios, But I have no idea how to get NTRViewer.exe to work on Android/iOS

Window Capture is exactly Game Capture, Except it detects windows rather than Game's with DX9 Etc.

How strong internet do I need to use this? Will this work on internet that has 100kb downloading speed?
Down/Up Speed DOESNT matter, You could get: 0bUP and 0b DOWN for all it cares. You just need a strong connection to the actual router NOT the internet.

Please re-enable Clock+L2, That definitely isnt whats causing it, That helps with FPS too (kinda), Look at the FAQ/Common Errors at the bottom of the OP.

Well i see, i guess, though i do notice some android apps have pc assets that are just ported into a zip archive then renamed with a .obb extention. Though maybe if someone could assist with it, maybe is possible. But if someone knows how to make android apps...

It seems that the UI issues I get may be due to the fact that my machine has a Retina Display with a specific configuration, Wine Staging can't handle the high DPI properly and ends up putting UI elements out of range. This is not a problem caused by CTR-V itself and is unlikely to occur on other people's machines.
That's good to know. Glad I didn't waste any time trying to fix that. Does it only happen with .NET applications? I don't use WINE often, so I've only had this happen with PKHeX.

Im working on an update that makes the text render a lot better (Anti-Aliasing) - Also working on a general re-do of the Connect/MemPatch tab.

I seem to be having an issue setting up, I am trying to find my 3DS' IP (I am running NTR through Luma). My 3DS is on, and online; I opened Fing, but can't find "nintendo" under anything.

Make sure your 3DS and Phone is on the same Network, Also be on the home menu so the 3DS connects to WiFi in the first place.

- That would be my problem.... I don't have an Android phone (or any type of smart phone; I got an old slide phone, LOL XP); I was using Fing on my laptop. Guess I'm SOL; why is the Homebrew Browser method not recommended?

Ohhh I tought u were using FING for Android/iOS, I dont think FING works the same on PC's which is why you cant find it. Your next option would be to open any FTP Homebrew and just get the IP from that, Or install FBI 2.4.1 or older and open network install -> And it says your IP.

I recommend the FBI way, The Homebrew way isnt recommended as it takes far longer to get the IP.

you can also manually set up a static IP right from your 3ds settings so long as you have all the other information you need to connect to your access point (subnet mask, gateway, and dns servers). can't say i ever changed my IP since discovering i could do this right from the 3ds.

Thank you to those who have helped me. I do have a question though... this only works with a WiFi connection, correct? I ask as we don't have WiFi where I live, gotta do it somewhere like my local library, fast food restaurants, book store, etc.

i would not recommend doing that cause those connections are typically bottlenecking your send/recieve thresholds anyways. you can do this with your wifi router of course, you don't need a dongle. the dongle (current ones that is) just gives a more direct connection to your pc skipping a hop which would increase/stabalize fps. my buddy bought a 8 dollar dongle from amazon and it works better then my 30 dollar one -.-

It would seem so, although I haven't really tested many other applications with Wine Staging before.

Been trying to get this to work all day, ended up finally getting it up and running but the fps was extremely unstable (starting at 40 and dropping to 1-9 then stopping soon afterwards) so I went out and bought a usb wifi dongle, I installed the drivers, created a Hosted Network sharing it with my ethernet connection (150 Down 10 Up,though I understand numbers don't really matter in this case), got my 3DS to connect to it, and booted NTR Selector 3.4 but on CTR-v (1.2.2, didn't get to try it on previous version) it constantly fails to establish the connection, I went back to trying just with my regular router and it worked, of course with the same crappy framerates. Help would be greatly appreciated ;~;

Doing it on a N3DSXL with A9LH, currently using PabloMK7 Banner 2.3 NTR-Selector, I also have the FONZD Banner 2.3 as well.

I should prolly get on that project with my buddy on here to take note on what dongles people have bought and what speeds they got. Anyways there's a few things with the hosted network via ctrv you have to do. After you first set it up and you have a hosted network running, you won't have internet connected to it (even if it says you do, I've never had internet connected to it unless i did the following).

1. Share internet to your hosted network (dongle) from your main internet (ethernet)
2. Set your 3DS to have a static IP (dongles don't have "router settings")
3. Make sure your dongle connection and your 3ds connection are both a private connection.

1. You have to make sure you share the internet connection with your dongle (also I have to do this each and every time i restart the hosted network, reconnect the dongle, or restart my pc). It always had failed to work, even if i know I'm locally connected to the dongle it fails to connect without proper internet? It's weird.

Here's an example: https://i.gyazo.com/073d11832a6903051addf09647e015ed.png

2. The other issue I had started to encounter was that my IP address kept changing so to remedy that,
on your 3ds go to System Settings --> Internet Settings --> Connection Settings --> [Main connection]
Change your settings for the IP address and DNS [via DETAILED SETUP]. The IP address can by anything so long as it falls under an ip address that your dongle will pick up

here's an example of getting a proper IP address: https://i.gyazo.com/adaf62234cd4dee8259be4bc765e1c03.png
here's what my 3ds internet settings look like: https://i.gyazo.com/fd8511c58afebf6f06fbfcf213541257.png

3ds ip can be 192.168.137.XXX in this case
Subnet mask is defaulted to 255.255.255.0
gateway needs to be your dongles IP address (shown above it's 192.168.137.1)
the DNS servers need to be the DNS servers from your main connection. (won't post that here, go look at it yourself.)

3. I completely forgot how to change it back and forth from public and private network. I will edit later for others to see how. or someone can tell me in a further post

Your settings may vary to mine these are just examples of course.

After you try these settings, restart hosted network once again, and put in the correct 3ds IP in the settings for ctr-v.

A little bonus: my personal settings i have for ctr-v/ntrDebugger to make bottom screen not look like shit https://i.gyazo.com/0fc784f0d52d474405b32f3654484936.png

I'm currently testing the difference between QoS at 100 and at 101. So far setting it to 100 makes the FPS stablized (haven't seen "lag spikes" where fps would drop to 14-22 fps for a split second using QoS val=100).
