Sorry for my lack of knowledge and research. I know it's possible to create an animated png file. Would this make it possible for animated badges as well? (I don't own badge arcade so I do not know if any of them are already animated.)
I don't think so.

So if an NNID doesn't exist, badges can still be used but only if the NNID field is set to zero?
Not quite, but you're close. The nnid is set to 0 by default and only changes when the user makes an nnid.
In essence, 0 is a placeholder for when no user-made nnid exists.

Update. zoogie's changes are now merged (can be used with nonexistent NNID, and an official CIA download is available.)

Also, running GYTB will no longer delete your layout information. However it simply blindly copies the old information rather than attempt to update it for added/removed/reordered badges, so good results are not guaranteed.

Someone also wanted a way to delete preexisting badge data. Don't quote see why, but you can now hold L+R+X+Y on startup to do this.

I'm still getting the "Can't detect the NNID" error when I try to run it. I just checked and I do have my NNID tied to my system, so I'm out of ideas. Can someone please help?

Redownload, it should still fail, but it'll give an error code that might help me figure it out.

There you go, hope it helps.

The 3ds is denying your act service access.

What *hax and entry point are you using? You might try to reinstall your *hax with the latest version if possible.

Also firmware version, and did you remember to add both GYTB.3dsx and GYTB.xml?

As zoogie says, that's the "you don't have permission" error, which is bypassed by using *hax's ability to take over other apps, in this case the eshop. Although I have seen it randomly pop up a few times myself, it's never stayed persistently...

I'm running 10.3 on a N3dsXL, and ninjhax 2.5. Tried reinstalling Ninjhax and no go. And yes, I copied the full folder over.

Run this app and tell us what is shows. (the product code)

and also, what boot.3dsx are you using? Try the latest official one from the starter.zip if you aren't already.

It froze. Here is a picture, is there a way to fix this?

I'm using .3dsx, badges folder is in there, spelled with all lower case,
ok info then: firmware, system type, *hax version, etc?
what filenames are you using inside the badges folder? Do any of them load? Could you upload one that doesn't work?

Any possible way for me to put these in categories like the arcade does. sifting through them takes me forever with 967 badges.
