Well, he's being doing it in the past but he did not get caught. He is really a bad person you should just delete the free shop. Don't respect this scumbag work he probably made the free shop for piracy and just said it was for games you own so it would be allowed on the temp.

That's literally not what happened here. And again, freeShop is not illegal, it falls under the very same laws that any download manager falls under. Being that freeShop does not use Nintendo's code, does not advocate piracy, does not give keys, does not tell you to use illegal keys, does not provide links to these keys, etc. It does not violate any copyright laws. This the nature of downloaders.
This would basically be like putting someone in jail for having uTorrent installed on their computer, even if they've never used it for piracy.

well cp is more serious then piracy your more likely to just get a fine for piracy and only the uploaders really get caught or people who torrent.

Expect it's extremely unlikely that you will be caught for piracy. Hardly anyone goes after the leechers, they only want the seeders.
But regardless, I just want to dismiss the entire idea that freeShop itself is inherently illegal....I think I might be only person here actually talking about freeShop...

It was not deleted, it was moved to another section for staff to discuss the issue. As the judgement was not yet final and since there was no indication that he had approached any GBAtemp members with such suggestions the decision was made to wait for the final judgement instead of us trying to judge him without having the evidence the courts had at hand.

Now could we please keep a civil discussion about this application?

Jesus, just lock the thread. When someone comes along who wants to take over maintenance of the project they can start a new one, this topic is just going to continue to devolve into an off topic shit show.

yeah I don't think having the thread open benefits anyone at this point, I'm sure anyone looking will be able to find freeshop if they want it, and it's not exactly hard to get setup
