nah no jail.. if they did put in jail people using this then the ones that got the bootrom would be in panic right now

Questions.

If I delete Freeshop, will I be able to redownload via Wolvan's Hombr3w?

Will there be more games added to Freeshop in the future?

Thanks! But isn't that technically not allowed to be posted now? You might get in trouble.

I don't believe freeShop actually violates any copyright laws, but mods can delete the link if they disagree. It would have been allowed without controversy until about ten minutes ago.

Freeshop relies on tickets witch come from a diffrent web site so more games will still come but just no application updates.

1)nope, Homebr3w/FBI download using the TitleDB URL aka GitHub.
2)Yes, that's up to the titlekeys.

Nope, not deleting the app.
At worst, you'll have to manually update the encTitleKeys/decTitleKeys and that would be it, right?
Freeshop hasn't had that many updates per se.

That's completely different, actually. That wasn't illegal, afaik. This tool, on the other hand, only serves as a means to pirate games.

Title keys are updated from an entirely different place so it shouldn't matter.

So what if it serves as a means for it? It's still copyrighted custom code that does not provide any infringing material other than the logo.

Regardless of that, the fact that it ONLY serves pirates is .... hard to defend legally.

I know that, im talking about the case where freeshop isn't capable of pulling the title keys by itself for any given reason. (you still have to give it the link/qr code for it to do it)

it serves to those who purchased the game but need a backup ? xD

The only backups that are bound "legal" in many places are the 1:1 representations of the thing you bought. I.e. A .3DS rom you dumped YOURSELF of an original cartridge. Don't know if dumping your own .cia with your own ticket of your digital game (which wouldn't be legit, just bound to your console) would be "legal".

You'd still be breaking the terms of use you'd accepted for the online features by nintendo, though.

I don't think new games will be coming to freeShop anymore, because TheCruel has to push new cache for new games, otherwise they won't appear on the game list even if you have new title keys. I don't think he'll keep pushing out new cache after this.

we know atleast @TheCruel cant release updates in a public Repo, (again not many updates over the last handfull of months)
titlekeys are retrieved from the titlekey site (even then that goes down that iso/chaos site will just reopen a community thread again just like before we had this and the key site.

however what about cache updates? No updated cache = no new games will show in existing freeshop installs
