'Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition' launches on Nintendo Switch 2

The definitive version of Dragon Quest XI, originally released in 2017, is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. For the occasion, a launch trailer was aired:

Players will follow the perilous journey of the Luminary: a hunted hero destined to uncover the mystery of his fate, with the help of a charismatic cast of supporting characters. An epic beginning of a new adventure, this enchanting world is brought to life by series creator Yuji Horii, character designer Akira Toriyama and series composer Koichi Sugiyama.

Some of Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age - Definitive Edition's features are as follows:

New story chapters where the party members take centre stage
Japanese voices and additional English voices
The ability to switch between 3D and 2D mode
An orchestral score
All new optimisation modes, allowing you to prioritise graphics or performance

I fail to see why all Square Enix games lack upgrade packs. Usually they aren't THIS anti-consumer. Nintendo, the company I expected to have this level of greed are the ones offering pretty reasonable upgrade packs.

NS1 version is good enough, and is on a proper cartridge.

Having no upgrade path is stupid, especially since the game is key-card only (for no reason).
While it's a shame I will not be touching it, maybe I'll get it down the line when it's 10€ on sale.
