This supports only Fire Emblem: Awakening save editing. This post will be updated when the new update is released. Some parts of the post has been removed, please ask in the comments if you are new or have any question about how the latest version is used.
If you want to edit Fates save files, you can use the excellent FEFTwiddler editor from @Soaprman . Be sure to check it out!
For using FireEditor, you need to decompress your file using SciresM's FEAST. https://github.com/SciresM/FEAST/releases
Latest stable version
October 25th, 2015: Sixteenth revision released 0.5-35-alpha
This is a little Java project I have been working on for editing western Fire Emblem: Awakening save files. It features so far:
- Editing of class, level, experience and added movement of any unit.
- Editing the name of your Avatar, Spotpass units, DLC units and Logbook Avatars.
- Editing of the equipped skills of your units.
- Editing of the appearance any Avatar has. You can change Build, Face, Hair and Hair Color. (Hair Color can be changed to any hex code between #000000 and #FFFFFF, not only the default in-game ones).
- You can make any Avatar's portrait be that of some DLC unit. It's inside the "Face" options in the appearance feature.
- Experimental cloning and deleting of units. This can and will cause issues in your game, like wiping out all of your convoy items, and some other things.
Always backup your save files before editing!

- Fixed a bug that crashed when loading some Chapter files because of missing portraits in the editor. Thanks to @Dark1
- No need for FEAST anymore. Load your files directly as you get them from your 3DS. (Chapter files). Anyway, thanks to SciresM's code, which I was finally able to translate from C# to Java.
- Can edit only Added Movement, Asset, Flaw and Internal Stats. Put a 99 in each stat for maxing them out, or 255 for keeping them always to zero in the game. Can't edit level, experience, nor class right now.
- Can edit hair color of Children, Avatar, Spotpass and DLC units. Spotpass and DLC units from previous games will change their 3D model color only.
- Haven't tested. Always back up your save file!
Thanks to @Mrperson0 for helping out with testing, providing a physical Japanese copy of Fire Emblem: Fates, and for supporting this development from the start.
Thanks to @ShadowMario3 for releasing his 100% perfect Global save file, it has helped, and will help a lot to complete the development of this editor.
Sorry, the option is not there yet, but it's entirely possible via hex editing. I can't help you right now, but I hope to have an update soon.anyway to max out coins? i would use powersaves but have a digital copy
I know that this is only tangentially related to Fire Editor, but here goes- how do I find Chrom's character block?
I've filled his inventory up with bronze swords and searched for the according bytes (0x0401, unless I'm doing something wrong here), but I can't actually find anyplace where his block would be located looking in the file. At the very least, could you tell me his character ID? Thanks!
It's nice to see clone unit function.
But would be there inject and export function too?
I mean inject all children's without marring
Thanks, but id dont change... Would try again...you can use the duplicate function to duplicate say lucina then change the character id to transform them into say severa. You should be able to change parents as well but it's still untested if it can be no one
ok, thank you!Sorry, the option is not there yet, but it's entirely possible via hex editing. I can't help you right now, but I hope to have an update soon.
If I understand correctly then your not finding the correct hex value. To stick with the lucina example you would need to search for 071A then change the 1A to 25 if you wanted severaThanks, but id dont change... Would try again...
So if I clone an existing character in my party, I would be able to change the values of said character into someone like Gaius.
Would I be able to have both male/female Avatar or both male/female Morgan, without breaking the game (pre-determined cutscenes based on what gender you picked at the beginning of the game)?
Example 1: I add a female Avatar to my team (even though I lready have a male one), and pair her up with one of my unmarried male units. Would that restart the Ruins of Time event, but keep female Morgan in my party?
Example 2: What would happen in the possible endings (an epilogue for all characters you've managed to recruit/can be recruited)? Would two versions of the Avatar and Morgan's ending play, or only the default ones based on the main Avatar's gender.
Example 1: no it does not restart the level if you have already cleared it.
Example 2: Both are shown no glitches happen
However if you want an avatar of the opposite gender then you have to change the value of an avatar logbook character that matches the gender you want. otherwise there are some graphical issues.
Well I rarely use the logbook as it is, so I guess it isn't a big deal (unless my game crashes and bricks). But I still have a few questions:
1. Can I hack Donnel!Morgan in the editor (since Ruins of Time can't do a repeat)
2. Will pairing Boy Morgan with Girl Morgan affect their ending(s) in anyway?
3. Will the game recognize the Male Avatar (one I picked) or Female Avatar (during cutscenes, chats with DLC Outrealm characters, anything that acknowledges the Avatar specifically)?
4. How do I even edit values in the v0.5-35-alpha of Fire Editor? (this is the only one for me that is infinite loading)
