May be a dumb question, but I installed emuNAND threw rxTools, updated it to 9.7. Will I be able to still install this or do I have to do this with Ninjhax on sysNAND?

Is there any trick to getting the network transfer to work without error? 90% of the time on files I end up getting the misaligned failure - the CIAs work fine when installed directly from the SD card so I know it isn't the file.

I am getting the same thing. Nothing has installed for me

What is the exact error you get containing Misaligned size? Everything else displayed with it.

As far as I know, there is no magic indicator in the CIA telling whether it should go on the NAND or not. The way I see it, I'm happy to give people the freedom to install whatever to wherever, with the hope that they will use at their own risk.

well all system titles have the ticket common key index as 0. (i think this is true always) i use the same check in FunkyCIA
check here http://3dbrew.org/wiki/Ticket

stuff like devmenu must know if a title is system or not, the title ids are not hard coded in the program. (although, maybe the high title id is, the first 8 digits)
i personally would just read that value from the ticket.

at least do a check, and warn the user that this is not a system app, and you are about to install to nand.
and, warn the user if you are about to install a system app to sd.

although i have not tested it, it is nice that you let us to that, but it is good to be careful too :)
have you tested installing user apps to nand and system apps to sd? yes or no?
can i really install dsiware to sd card?

I did test installing blargSnes to NAND before, and it seemed to work fine.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but is it possible to downgrade the system settings and internet browser apps to the the 4.x version then install the DS Profile exploit and launch Palantine CFW on sysNAND 9.x? Or would something along that process create a brick?

You could probably downgrade them without issue. But palantine isn't going to work. It isn't meant for anything but 4.5 and if downgrading two titles was all that was needed to run it on >4.5 we would know by now. For one it leverages an exploit that was fixed in 5.0 (not MSET, that was in 7.0). And it would be far easier to just write your own CFW for 9.x than try and fix that mess.

For now the DS Profile exploit only works to launch the Gateway launcher on the up to 9.2 3DS. It can be used to possibly downgrade an O3DS to 4.5 but I wouldn't attempt to do so without having a hard mod to unbrick it just in case.

Actually it won't work on an old 3DS at all, it only works on new3DS(XL) units. Unless this was simply a typo?

The were saying that the old DS Profile exploit can NOW be used on the N3DS just like the old 3DS. You can still use it on the O3DS by downgrading the System Settings to v4.0 but it initially wasn't an option on the N3DS system.

I don't have an exploitable O3DS so I have no way to confirm. You can always try to downgrade the O3DS to 4.5 using Gateway but I wouldn't do it without a way of restoring in the event of a brick.

Just go for a nand mod if you are in ease with soldering ^^

I've done the downgrade twenty-ish times now to see how likely it is to brick. Hasn't happened yet so I'd say the biggest risk is battery dying mid flash or you dropping it. But for that I'd keep the 3DS plugged in and, you know, on a flat, stable surface (like a table).

I'm amazed at how I have yet to brick my unit. At least then I'd finally have a reason to mod it.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned this but there does seem to be some incompatibility issues with certain cia files, i just tried to install the mewtwo dlc for ssb to see if its worth the $7.50 before buying, it installed fine but it was missing from ingame and no unlock messages came up upon loading it so i reinstalled once more and same thing but after trying with devmenu it worked perfectly.

I assume you're attempting to install the DLC on emuNAND?
