This ain't reiNAND dude, CakesFW has been using 10.2 since it added 9.6+ emuNAND support.

ReiNAND initially used 9.6, but it's now using 10.2 too.
Nope, official reinand uses 10.2 now and the mod version by Aurora Wright uses 10.4. :)
And Cakes uses, well... whatever firmware version you want really.

I don't think I have updated this o3ds firmware.bin since last september and it's running 10.3 fine. Just asking.

A lot has happend till the last time I looked up here :)
Great things are going on.

The firmware thing is the most confusing part on all CFW for me, since >=9.6.
I have not touched my N3DS setup since November I think.

Now there are different kind of firmwares for O3DS and N3DS and for different kind of NATIVE_FIRM that are supported.
Think I will stay at CakeFW <=100 and rxTools October 2nd release :)

It's not particularly complicated. Use the latest release, add the slot0x11keyx96.bin to the root of your SD card, download the N3DS firmware and cetk files linked in the OP, and you can carry on using Cakes as normal, except now able to update your emuNAND to 10.5.

I know, thx :)

But somehow I am trying to unterstand why I have to put those files there :)
Cakes uses encryped firmware and decrypts them, ReiNAND uses only decryped firmwares.
rxTools actually some way off.

After 2-3 months of abstinence it needs some time to read all the infos :)
Everything's fine :)

Just a reminder for all those who like to upgrade to 10.5.

Always make an EMUNAND BACKUP! ALWAYS!!
- Use EmuNANDTool (Windows) or Decrypt9 (3DS Homebrew) or EmuNAND9 (3DS Homebrew)

If you upgrade or not, it doesn't hurt to make an emunand on a regular base (every 14 days or every month)

Good advice in general, but not really needed for this update as basically nothing changed. :)

Can't seem to find a working firmware.bin for N3ds 10.5E, they all just black screen after I apply disable security checks, enable cfwnand and press load cfw, or tell me they are not comparable. Can anyone give me a md5 number of a working one or the file name if garbed by nus?
