Current listings are claiming that its "WOOD core is maintained by EZTEAM and supported by the community".

Obviously the community hasn't been 'supporting' ezpkernel or the cart before its launch or at the time those listings went up.

It's likely an adaptation of the sentence "with community support" from an article posted to RetroDodo, with itself likely being an adaptation of the sentence "with good after-sales support" (machine translated) from EZ-Flash's website.

- AliExpress: https://web.archive.org/web/2024030...tewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt&_randl_shipto=US

- RetroDodo: https://web.archive.org/web/2024030...-3ds-flash-cart-finally-coming-to-us-eu-soon/

- EZ-Flash: https://web.archive.org/web/20240303184651/https://www.ezflash.cn/cn/

So, what do you think? Does it count as false advertising? Should something be done about it?

Either way, the prices seem to be getting closer to normal, which is good at least.

So, what do you think? Does that sentence count as false advertising? Should we boycott and leave low reviews for such sellers?

I just hope the ezflash team shares the model/shell they are using for this

They seem to preach repairability for their gba carts. So that would be a step in the right direction for these as well and cut down on some ewaste. (why buy a whole new card if the casing cracks)

I got mine last week and it works great. I reached out to the store I bought from and I think it is just bad explaining about the community support. It may be referring to just the wood skins, as far as the community support goes. They are definitely improving it as I downloaded the latest 1.03 firmware and it sounds like they are continuing to update the firmware. As it is right now, if you already have a newer ace 3DS X or similar wood-powered card, you're likely good with those and not missing anything. I think the work that the ezflash team will do will hopefully add more benefits. I will say that it is night and day between the ez flash parallel and other r4 / ace flashcards in terms of build quality

Good luck suing a Chinese company in China to get them to edit their webpage. As for the legitimacy of the claim, one of the things several reviewers have said about this card and the software on it is that the EZ Team is planning on releasing the software they've adapted for the card as open source. So, it's just a matter of time before it becomes more true.

I also tend to agree with 3dsgametime that things like themes and icons, which were made by the community, do work on this card. So it's hard to point out that AliExpress is flat out lying about this.

1.) No. China is untouchable when it comes to things like that.
2.) Mountains out of molehills much?
3.) They're taking the WOOD kernel and spinning their own version of it since 1.62 is the last official build from the original dev. (unofficially v1.64 on some R4 clone carts)

Oh yeah... good point.

Is that official? (They'd be... [Edit - incorrect]

Perhaps legally but not when it comes to negative reviews/ lesser sales.

Anyway, I must've been in the hills. Thanks for the input guys.
