So , as there are many anime fans here I though maybe some of you could recommend me a good one I could like.

I'm liking (as in watched to the end. Exception is Death Note because it's the only anime I watch with eng dub and it's not completed. :\ )

Death note
Initial D
The Melancholy of Suzumia Haruhi
Kodomo no Jikan (2007)
Shagukan no Shana. (1th one , the 2th somehow sucked.

)

I think these are all , at least I can't remember any other goood anime.

So I searching for a funny anime which should preferably play in modern japan.

I just finished watching Nodame Cantabile, which is set in current day Japan, and I found it to be pretty funny and all around quite good. Be warned though, the show focuses on the lives of classical music students and as such, a good portion of the show involves listening to classical music. I have no great love for classical music but I found it very enjoyable and relaxing; if you hate classical music then you might wanna skip this one (it's still a great series).

I'd also recommend Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop if you (somehow) haven't seen them.

I've just finished watching Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. EPIC. Truely EPIC.

A lot better than Death Note

Also if you haven't seen it yet, see Fullmetal Alchemist

So many animes so little time.

Funny eh, what sort of funny?

Azumanga Daioh and Pani Poni Dash are incredibly funny.

But hell it would be easier to just type out my collection and let you figure it out

Cromartie is really funny.. a lot of random non-sense jokes XP

Also.. Yu Yu Hakusho and Ranma 1/2.. both in modern Japan (well.. 1990 Japan actually), both have some really funny moments (specially Ranma) and some good action/fighting parts

and Cowboy Bebop which IMO is essential to anyone who likes anime!
