I take it this is the exact statement you wanted me to look at?

"This is a closed beta, we are taking feedback via IRC or the wiki from the selected group of testers. If you want to use the program anyway that's your choice, but please don't clog this thread with bug reports about it. "

If that's the case, my apology. I shall patiently await a public release. Thanks for all the hard work, and keep it up, guys!

I don't know if this has been brought up before or not, but will Rock Band 2 read a microsdhc inside of a microsdhc to sd adapter?

I know it can't read an sdhc card but I wasn't sure if this had to do with the card itself or if it is incompatible with anything over 4gb of space from the sd slot. Maybe the adapter is actually microsdhc to sdhc.

MicroSD to SD adapters won't have any effect on the ability to use SD cards. An adapter with a MicroSDHC card in it is, for all intents and purposes, an SDHC card. Rock Band 2 only supports SD cards based on storage system and capacity.

run from the disc channel? no.

run from within the context of rawksd 3? yes.

Will playing customs and/or DLC from USB using rawksd3 cause the long loading times?

no, rawksd is an application, not a hack; 800+ songs loading here from usb/sdhc/wireless in 20ish seconds.

Sorry, I don't quite understand. Do you choose the location of the songs through RawkSD, it then loads your Rock Band 2 disc, and the lag times that occur with uLoader don't exist? It runs just like the normal game?

Haha. Alright, I appreciate your help. Sounds like it will be an awesome release.

I assume this has been looked at before, but I can't find anything about it. I know you can import and GH discs, but will there ever be a way to port GH DLC over so I can just have everything (except THRB) all in one?

NO NO NO! A THOUSAND TIMES NO! (No digs at you or anything, I just finished watching the Roast of David Hasselhoff, and I looooooove that part.)

You will never be able to import DLC with this tool, ever.

May I ask why never ever?

It would enable DLC piracy, which no one wants to get into.

Trust me, I would love to be able to play my DLC on a better vocals engine. But think about it:
1) Rawk rips are unencrypted with... anything, and could be easily shared, more easily than WADs
2) Each GH DLC is encrypted with a key (something like that)
3) It's just too much work to add support for a function that would cost developers money and would only allow something that the RawkSD does not condone.

I'm not a dev, but I'm fairly certain at least one of those points is the leading factor behind it.

It's just pointless to ask; regardless, it won't happen. If someone figures out the format well enough to get MIDIs out, have a ball. But you won't get anything from RawkSD.

EDIT: Yeah, I was wrong on something. It's still not being supported.
hello i am sfenton and i am a mind reader

i fail to see how supporting dlc enables dlc piracy anymore than importing guitar hero/rock band games enables piracy of those games, or how having customs enables piracy of music

wouldn't supporting the track packs enable piracy since majority of those songs (if not all) are available as dlc in rock band 2?

You have no idea, buddeh.

In preparation of RAWK3.0 and wanting to add country songs as customs, I've been playing around with TheGhost and AerialX's RiiGHOST.dll. Many, many thanks for this dll Aerial.

Most of the country songs I've been able to get the charts for from Score and Frets only have one of the difficulties charted. I use TheGhost with the RiiGhost.dll to auto chart the rest of the difficulties. Then I use my original GH3 disc with Riivolution and the songs work great.

My question is ... Is/will there be an import function to import the files created from the RiiGhost.dll into RAWK?
example of files
slowride.dat.ngc
slowride.wad.ngc

If I import the Fret charts the way the RAWK PC app is now, I only get the one difficulty.

If there is a better way to auto chart the other difficulties that can then be imported into RAWK, please let me know. Many thanks.

Will adding album art to customs work? Because I've read previous posts about them working for 5 minutes or so until the game itself crashes. If that's the case, why is the option available in the RawkSD3 PC app? Just wondering....

+ 1 for this

Nope, it's just there in the PC app for no apparent reason. I asked if it was for XBox DLC exports and tueidj said no because it was converted into a Wii-only format...

So yeah, not sure why they have that there...

If you put it into the GH3 ISO, it would be able to import fine. On its own, though, I don't think RSD supports that format.

I did, however, find this tool, written by one of the authors of TheGHOST. You may find it helpful.

You can see the usage guide here: Usage Guide

Tell me if it works well, I'm kind of interested.

So yeah, not sure why they have that there...
It is actually used for 360 DLC exports, and FoF exports. But mainly, it's imported because it can be and may be useful in the future. Also makes the GUI prettier

And I agree it makes things nicer in the GUI. I include album art in my .rwk's. Nice to hear it is included in XBox DLC and FoF exports, tueidj said he didn't know but didn't think so.
