Nintendo's Customer Appreciation Sale goes live in the US, made possible by tariff-related refunds

Announced a few days ago, Nintendo of America have today launched their Customer Appreciation Sale. Featuring 30% discounts across a wide range of popular first-party Switch titles, it could be a good opportunity to try a game you might have passed up on in the past. In their press release, Nintendo of America makes a note to say that this sale is in part funded by the tariff-related refunds, though that Nintendo did absorb most of the tariff-related costs previously.

Nintendo of America said:
Nintendo of America is excited to announce the Customer Appreciation Sale, one of our largest promotions ever, featuring 30% off dozens of Nintendo Switch digital games and bundles, plus savings on select physical games, downloadable content, accessories, amiibo, and apparel.

The sale runs from September 12 through September 26 across Nintendo eShop, Nintendo Store, and participating retail locations. Available products and offers may vary by retailer and sales channel.
Whether you're jumping into a Nintendo Switch favorite for the first time, or revisiting an adventure on your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 system, the Customer Appreciation Sale is packed with savings on dozens of Nintendo Switch games, accessories, and more.

The Customer Appreciation Sale is our way of saying thank you to Nintendo players for their continued support and is made possible in part by tariff-related refunds. While Nintendo absorbed most tariff-related costs, the refunds helped make promotions like this one possible.

This sale will be available until the 26th of September for Switch and Switch 2 owners in the US. At the time of writing there is no word on whether Nintendo appreciates their customers in other regions.

Instead of giving back the money to their customers, they are giving discount on their eshop games? Even if they gave these old games out for free, Nintendo is not losing any money. They are digital games, you can make a trillion copies without any cost.

They know that you have the console as you tie it to your account and they know that you have your games if you redeem the points for it. They know everything they need to know to give you additional points.

Exactly. If Nintendo truly appreciates its customers, they should bring back the gold points. It wasn't much, but 5% cashback for digital games and 1% for physical? I've purchased a lot of great things for gold points.

Anyone who has a Costco membership can also get $100 Nintendo giftcards for $90.

Doing this, some of these games are genuinely cheaper than the used physical market.

I mean... They're still more expensive than they should be. But that's a different story.
