In anticipation of the Messiah-like arrival of RawkSD3 I've managed to buy an NTSC version of RB2 (I'm a PAL user). Now, how can I load this NTSC game through my PAL wii disc channel? It loads through Gecko of course but I gather that will be a no-go on RawkSD3.

No doubt this is an unforgivably noob, flak-inducing question but have a little patience.

QUOTE(DaeronR @ May 8 2010, 09:59 AM) How about using a PAL disc & console with RawkSD3?

3.0 will support both PAL and NTSC RB2 discs on any NTSC, PAL, or JAP system. If you own RB2 and a Wii, you're fine.

WhenSometime. Probably in the future. Not today. Money's off on tomorrow too.

QUOTE(RoboticBuddy @ May 13 2010, 08:06 PM) only works with rock band 2 right? not guitar hero world tour or anything like that?
An alternate version called RawkTour can be found on RawkSD's wiki for customs in Guitar Hero World Tour. However, it uses a DLC replacement method which limits how many songs you can add, and it's all-around much more tedious than RawkSD. It's also no longer being supported or updated. If you've got Rock Band 2 (should be down to $15 or so per copy) then RawkSD is a superior choice.

It ALMOST seems pointless working on RawkSD now - Rock Band 3 is due out this year, after all.
i wonder if the makers of rb3 feel the same way...i wonder if this is, in fact, a race to relevance. imagine harmonix' chagrin if aerial and crew beat them to the punch.

Applause for the guy that's still beleiving in that that project......now go back to your bed.....dreamer

Hmm...I probably should stay out of this, but...this isn't a question of belief, nightshadow. About 2 weeks back, Aerial showcased in this thread his progress with converting drum animations into drum charts (check page 127). That easily debunks your statement that there is no support or update for rawksd.

Now I understand you don't like it that there is no public update of rawksd. But would you mind doing me a favor and not draw conclusions that are based upon that simple perception?

Thank you.

For the record, you can extract files from your GHWT disc and use RawkTour to modify them, then use Riivolution to play them; no need for DLC replacement anymore. Of course, it's still more cumbersome than RawkSD, but gives you a bunch more free slots to replace. You could even edit the QB/QS PAK files with Queen Bee and change the setlist names/artists/etc.

Oh, nice. Is there a script for this floating around somewhere?

A script? You just need Wiiscrubber, RawkTour (use it like normal minus the BIN packing/unpacking steps), and a basic template XML.
