Ok. I hate the date and time being on the top screen of EVERY theme on the R4I-SDHC 3DS (www.r4i-sdhc.com) and I want it gone, like right now. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? I'd appreciate if anyone could help.
@Luigi I'm on the newest firmware and the date/time exists.
@Everyone Man, I would offer karma but gbatemp doesn't implement it. That is how much I hate the date and time message on the top screen. It gets in the way of the upper screens ROM detail display. If I can't find an answer here, but I'm hopeful I will, I'll write the team and tell them how counter productive the text is to the ROM detail display. Hopefully they will consider a request to allow for its removal. Trying to match the date/time text color doesn't even help as it never truly matches. I would assume the fix would be straight forward but in fact it isn't to me. I just know it will be beyond easy for some members. Here's to hoping someone knowledgeable reads this message and has the time to instruct on the fix. Thank you.
The R4i-sdhc.com uses it's own format that is similar to all other fake R4 carts (Game, Menu and Slot2 buttons on the bottom screen) but just different enough to require it's own skin maker. If you google "17booberts r4i-sdhc skin maker" you should get links to it. I will not link to the actual programme as it has links to a ROM site in it's programming.
You can use the third button on the main r4i-sdhc screen to edit the colour of the time and date but you cannot get rid of it.
Unfortunately I believe that it is a "feature" of the kernel to have the time and date permanently in the top left hand corner of the top screen and it cannot be removed. The best you can hope for is to edit the SPLASH_DateTime in the color.ini file contained within the skins folder to a value that matches the background colour so that you can't see it or use 17booberts skin maker to alter the color of the text.
I wouldn't call the r4i-sdhc 3DS "fake." It's actually a damn good flash card. The r4i-sdhc team is great. They release new firmware and updates regularly. If they don't offer a game update fast enough there is always Retro's firmware. All in all though, it has been a great card and I endorse it, telling people that they'll be happy they purchased it. I will continue making these comments until the r4i-sdhc team evokes a different emotion, but love is all I have right now.
@ Everyone Please read two posts up. I'm still hoping someone can please tell me how to get rid of the date/time text on the top screen of my r4i-sdhc 3DS card. Thank you

I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
