Heyo, Today my R4i SDHC arrived in the mail, and I downloaded all the required files from the model's download page at r4isdhc.com

I copied all the files, but this is where the issue lies. I put it into my 3ds and DSi and both give me the error "Can't open _dsmenu.dat". I was really confused since my previous R4i SDHC Snoopy model (afaik) was simply plug and play. I renamed my "r4.dat" to "_dsmenu.dat" but that led to no avail. I then went looking for any "_dsmenu.dat" files and found a few, one of which worked. This kernel appeared to be "Wood 1.62".

Basically, I can play my flashcard now, but I'd like to run the bundled r4 menu that was provided to me. Does anyone have any suggestions or information that can help me out? I can't refer to my old R4i Snoopy because my little brother misplaced it (along with my sky3ds+...) so I hope I can find some answers here. Thank you! If you have any questions or need information that I have missed, feel free to ask.

    I've received today new R4 SDHC Dual-Core 2017 from http://nds-card.com/ProShow.asp?ProID=507

I also get error "Can't open _dsmenu.dat". I've tried several Wood kernels but everyone gives me that error. I'm using 2gb SD card with that cart.
Any idea hot to get it to work?

Thanks but I've managed to go around with YSmenu BUT it boots me into wood menu:
Seller from nds-card sent me wood-v162.rar (which is the same one you sent me here)
So I've copied content from wood .rar into root of SD card and then I've copied content from "306743-RetroGameFan Multi Cart Update v7.04.7z", folder "R4i-SDHC YSMenu" also onto the root of SD card and when I boot up DSi XL, it boots straight into the wooden menu that looks like this:

I've downloaded YSMenu files from here:
    https://gbatemp.net/threads/retrogamefan-updates-releases.267243/

I'm not sure that it is because of YEMenu files which are also on the stick because prior to copying I've formatted SD with Panaosnic SDFormatter app so maybe it did something to the SD card which made it work with flashcart

Strange, that IS Wood R4, which the card is unable to run. Mind showing a picture that you've taken yourself?

I've tested on other SD card, the problem is in formatting: if you format via Windows format, it doesn't work. BUT if you format card via Panaosnic SDFormatter app, then it works perfectly even without YSmenu files, so only difference is in way you format SD card...
