We've been telling people not to buy R4 clones since before the DSi was even released. Will this drive that message home? Probably not.

Funny thing is, I've had people I know say the R4 is the best you can get.

I don't know who in their right mind EVER bought an R4...

I did, but that was back when the R4 was one of the only decent slot1 cards that supported MicroSD around, I believe the firmware was 1.08 at that time. While I use a CycloDS now, I am actually thinking about getting the old R4 up and running for multiplayer use one of these days. And yes, it is an original R4 (I got it before the clones started showing up) so no DSi support, SDHC support, or any of that stuff.

Some cards are physically not updatable. As in the problem is in hardware limitions, not software.
