Hacking R4i gold pokemon wifi problems

So I bought an r4i gold and played pokemon white 2 on it. When I try to connect to the wifi, it keeps telling me error 52000 even though my 3ds is connected to the wifi through WPA key. I tried changing the wifi password to WEP key but whenever I click Nintendo WFC settings on White 2, it detects the signal and then abruptly disconnects proceeding to show message 52000 on my face. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Oh, and what's with these people saying there's a patch in the original cartridges( not present in roms or so I heard) which let you enter the Wifi room? Is that true?

Make sure DHCP is on in the router, try renaming your connection's SSID too so it shows up as something different.
