Hacking R4i Gold 3ds on 4.5 sysnand

I have a gateway but I no longer have the blue cart, I want to play classic nds backups but I'm not confident on what I should do. I've done some searching but I'm not positive that I am not risking my gateway usage.

Please correct me if anything I assume is wrong.
If I get a r4i Gold 3ds with firmware V1.80b on it, I will be able to play classic DS backups on my O3ds with sysnand 4.5
Installing the firmware and the r4i gold 3ds will not affect my ability to use my gateway card.




will I have to be in my EmuNand to use the r4i ?

The R4i company that sold me my R4i Gold saw that I had a 3DS with the latest firmware and actually kindly gave me two R4i RTS that are compatible with my 3DS. (The R4i Gold I was gonna buy didn't support my 3DS firmware)

The latest version of rxtools has the new patch of TWL that makes many (like... 80-90%) ds flashcards not compatibles with 3ds to run properly on 3ds. Aureinand has this too.

Let's clarify. You have a 3DS with 4.5 and an R4 and you have a Gateway and you want to use the R4?

At what step of "insert cart, press A to start cart" does a problem occur?

lol, ok i got it...
i was confused about the uhh, installing the firmware to the r4i off the microsd, to the r4, I thought it might be possible to screw up my gateway usage.
now i'm pretty sure I was just overthinking the entire thing.
I don't have a r4i yet, where can I buy one from the USA that accepts paypal.. I tried to purchase one from several different websites and my visa card was "rejected due to security risk" ... i called up visa and they claim it wasn't on their end.... and I emailed support for the sites and every single one of them emailed me back a "failure to deliver" message... i checked ebay, but the few auctions I saw don't end till for a week, and I'd like to get it asap.
who sells a r4i gold 3ds or r4i gold 3ds rts?
