Hmm.... I have confusing question :S .....
If the R4 and R4i from www.r4i-sdhc.com is a clone of the DSTT, then why can't I use the DSTT firmware as my default firmware..? I can run it as a .nds file but when I rename it to R4.DAT, it just has a red micro SD saying MENU? When I encrypt it with r4crypt (or r4denc.. something like that), and then put it in, it says ERROR....
When I press it as a .nds file, it works fine.. and shows the menu and everything.. :/

Do you have a loading file (like R4i.TP, iLL.iL, etc...) on root of your card, from the R4 kernel you use?
If there is, try editing it, the data inside should be the same type than TTMENU.dat (from original DSTT kernel).
If they are, you can compare all other files in /SYSTEM/ with original DSTT files in /TTMENU/.
Find which one is what about R4i(DSTT) files, copy the files from DSTT in /SYSTEM/ and rename them with R4 names.
Same with TTMENU.dat and rename it R4i.TP (or whatever the name the R4 files' had).

I guess you would have the same correspondance than I have : Check first part
