Hacking R4DS vs Cyclo DS Evolution

Ok i have both the R4DS and Cyclo DS Evo.............

I reviewed both and this is what i found.

1. The Cyclo DS has a more user-friendly GUI whereas the R4 has an old outdated GUI.
2. The R4 is a lot more easier to use.
3. The Cyclo DS supports almost all homebrew whereas the R4 supports 1 or 2.
4. The Cyclo DS has Real-Time Save.
5. The R4 is cheaper.
6. The R4 can add cheats whereas the Cyclo DS only has inbuilt cheats.
7. Both run Moonshell.
8. The R4 is easily skinnable.
9. Cyclo DS doesn't have problems with DS Download Play.
10. R4 is alot faster than Cyclo DS. (BTW i am using the second gen one)
11. Cyclo DS supports SDHC cards. But you don't need or want more than 2GB of Memory.

Now its your choice and you decide which one you want.
I like R4 more because its cheaper and easier and i love to cheat!

I would agree that CycloDS has superior GUI, you're right with this statement..

2. The R4 is a lot more easier to use.
I wouldn't agree, it's more simple to use it because it doesn't have all those features, but easier...no, both carts have very user-friendly approach..

3. The Cyclo DS supports almost all homebrew whereas the R4 supports 1 or 2.
CycloDS does support all homebrew, but R4 supports far more than only 1 or 2 apps/games....Homebrew compatibility on R4 is fairly high..

4. The Cyclo DS has Real-Time Save.
Yes it does..

5. The R4 is cheaper.
In general, yes...but if you consider what do you pay, and how much do you get.....CycloDS would turn out cheaper....
With R4 you pay NO support, NO updates, NO perfect compatibility and NO future..
With CycloDS you pay amazing customer support, you pay all the new features that are added very often, you pay perfect compatibility and very bright future..
(and not to mention that there was short period of time when R4 really WAS more expensive than CycloDS in price)

6. The R4 can add cheats whereas the Cyclo DS only has inbuilt cheats.
CycloDS CAN have custom cheats as well.....Check Narins cheat database....heck, I'm having custom cheats on my CycloDS (although I don't use them)

7. Both run Moonshell.
That is nothing special, MoonShell is a homebrew....all carts support it..

8. The R4 is easily skinnable.
And so is CycloDS, and if I may add, you have a bit more freedom with CycloDS, because it lets you skin a bit more and better than R4!!

9. Cyclo DS doesn't have problems with DS Download Play.
Nor does R4

Download play works on original R4 if you use latest firmware, and leave your ROMs untrimmed (or trimm them with 2.0 trimmer)

10. R4 is alot faster than Cyclo DS. (BTW i am using the second gen one)
?!?!?!?!Where did you come up with that?!
And faster with what? Browsing trough the ROMs is perfect with CycloDS, and games boot really fast....I wouldn't say that R4 can be alot faster than CycloDS..

11. Cyclo DS supports SDHC cards. But you don't need or want more than 2GB of Memory.
It the matter of personal preference, don't tell people what they want or need, because it's misleading....I'm having 4 GB microSD, and it's not enough space for me..
I use my NDS for multimedia purposes other than gaming, and I use all the space I can get!!

CycloDS is better in my opinion, but more expensive..

Cyclo got automatic DLDI patch which i dont think R4 have, and that awseome that you dont have to patch homebrews!
also CycloDS si the only card that has realtime save right know(i think).
And cycloDS's sypport is like the best according to reviews...

so i think you should buy the CDSE

R4 also has automatic patching and real time save. I like the display all games of the r4 instead of the scroll up and down and find your games in my opinion.

R4 doesn't have RTS...

Where did you find one that has it?! haha..
And both R4 and CycloDS have very similar vay of browsing trough the cart, but CycloDS has it pulled out much more prettier..
