I took a picture of what the files look like on my DS lite. I think that's supposed to be loaded on the 3DS aswell. Hope this helps a bit

You need patched TWL_FIRM. It won't boot without it. You need to use latest nightly build of rxTools or use prepatched TWL_FIRM CIA on emunand.

The rom had an odd layout to it. First off it used an arm7 entry point I hadn't seen before (but was able to get around this via arm7 patch to avoid error has occured message) and arm9 binary was at an odd location. (it's usually at 0x4000 always) It then had some unknown data at 0x200. It had a normal header size so there should not have been data there.

This card seems to have "integrity" checks, so this launcher may cause that check to fail when you attempt to boot the card. (though it seems it will let you run the update.evo file. But I don't have a CycloDS to test. Maybe this is a non issue)

Either way. V2 is more likely to work. V1 just white screens. The data at 0x200 had to be removed to make room for the DSi Extended header. Hopefully this won't cause issues. Maybe it will just end up loading that from the cart.

I definitely don't recall this one booting to the Integrity failed message though, so this one got further then my first attempt to make CycloDS work.

hm i cant get this to work on my o3ds..

ive installed the patched twl_firm to my emunand (set to nand) via fbi
and then installed the M3launcher both to my emunand and sysnand
via fbi (also set to nand).

always getting the error i need to power off

I think you need the twl_firm on sysnand too.

are you sure? i think ive read its only needed on emunand where i want to launch it from

Never mind that. You are right, it's not supposed to be on sysnand. Try installing the CIA'S again, I suppose. I don't know anything else.

You are using WoodM3 right? Hausa51 linked it.

Well that looks promising. At least it would be worthwhile to patch out the integrity checks since it does seem able to access the MicroSD and run things from it.

As for R4 Upgrade Revolution launcher. Looks like it doesn't work. Doing the same thing my launchers for R4 SDHC did.

Yes, it can definitely read and write MicroSD (it deleted the update.evo after installing it).

Too bad! I was hoping it was possible to revive it from the dead. Oh well. Thanks for trying anyway! I know someone who stil uses her DSi and would like to play some games on it. I guess I'll sell my card to her. I'm going for a DSTwo+ in the upcoming month, since my precious ol' R4 is not working anymore. Really appreciate the effort you did

Maybe @FIX94 could look into seeing if it's possible to remove the integrity check on the CycloDS SRL? Looks like it will work once the check is removed. I updated the link to include the SRLs and the original rom dump for comparison. (v2 of my launcher seems to be the one that works)

I keep getting an error telling me to turn my 3DS off. Latest RxTools nightly, original R4 bought in 2008. SD card is formatted to FAT16.

Error has occurred message probably means not using patched TWL_FIRM or in your case most likely that you tried to launch it from emunand without first installing the launcher to sysnand as well.

Then it's your build of rxTools then. It must not be the latest. There's no other reason I can think of for that problem.

Try launching it from sysnand (don't use Pasta mode, it disables TWL_FIRM patching) to be sure.
