I've been reading a lot of guides on this forum, and this is something I'm confused about. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the R4 is the Micro SD flash card, correct? All I should need to play DS games is the R4. Is it telling me I have to buy a 2nd Micro SD card? Because if so, that makes no sense, because a DS only has one Slot-1. Is the site saying I need to buy one of these cards too?:

r4 = the flashcart itself
micro sd card = the medium in which data (your roms, saves, homebrews, firmware/system files, etc) are stored

The flashcart doesn't store any data; it's all stored/managed in your micro sd card, which is inserted into the flashcart.

look at it this way:

1) the DS only reads DS cartridges

2) a microSD card is a tiny tiny memory card thats the size of your fingernail

3) in order to fit a microSD card into your DS, you need an adapter.
The R4 is the adapter. It comes with advanced features, software-based for the most part.
It tricks the DS into believing that it is an actual DS cartridge, while actually it reads games off the microSD card.

Ahh I see now. The Sandisk micro SD plugs onto the flash cart. That was confusing me how two things could share one slot, considering images always blow up the Micro SD cards to epic proportions.

Alright, I just had to make sure. So I'll buy the R4 and the 2GB Sandisk Micro SD and I should be set then. Thanks guys.
