Hacking R4 DS skins

Hey, thought i would make a new dev kit for skin making

to make it easy for any one to make masterpieces

As you can see it is a full workin of the 1.8 firmware, including the No cheat button

it is the exact same color and text, also it contains a split divide for background images

and a blank .ini file with instructions on which color is which, you can download it all here

The Zip contains both .PDF and .BMP files in separate folders for those with photoshop and those without

take out the gba frame bmp, it should work after that

It does look good. I especially like the "cheat not found" box.

The only problem is that there's no empty space where the DS's hinge goes, which makes the background look weird.

I started to do it that way but it cut out a large portion of the robot/mech-thing and I didn't like how it looked.

Games Menu - rub or touch (hahaha) the left side of Wentworth's chest
Multimedia - touch the space between Wentworth and Dominic
Slot 2 - rub/touch the right side of Dominic's chest.

What do you mean?

You can erase all themes folders in _system_ folder and use only one skin, or you can put the skin files (bmps and theme.ini only) in one of 12 theme folders. You can select the desired skin by pressing the select button.

I guess that will do. Someone say if it ain't right, please.

Why not create your own? There are templates available to help. But if you want something very rough, resize the picture to 256x476 then from top/bottom corner, measure 256x192 and there you go. It should compensate for the gap so it won't look odd.

Obviously, there are many pages to this thread, and I haven't read all of them yet, but I have went past page 100 on mavisxp, and I haven't seen one yet.

So for the love of God, someone make a Homeastar, Strongbad, and/or The Cheat skin!

I'll make one myself if I get the chance.

Hi, just made another skin i call it DSTM,

its a wii dashboard clone that gives the Ds a look that

makes it look like it should, and go with the wii,

it doesn't says R4 or M3 anywhere on it,

and includes the new cheat button, and it has a very clear .ini file
