I've had mine for 6 months or so. Still works like a charm.

Same here, even the spring is still working perfectly.

I've had one for a while now, and the only problem I find is sometimes when I have taken the cart out, its not recongized when it was put back in, but thats a rarity.

A lot of electronics can get wet and as long as they are dried out they work fine. We had equipment at work that would regularly get soaked by salt solution (dont ask) and we would open it up and put it out in the sun and it would work fine.

Yea it's cheaply made, but it's cheap to buy too. Mine works fine, sometimes freezes in the game, but not very often.

I think it's cheaply made, but it's decent, and the support and software for it is great! Better than any of the other flashcarts. And it's cheap too...

What happened to the that one?Â

And are you talking about the newer version of the R4 that does not have the spring, or the older one? I think that there MAY be a difference in terms of reliability.

My first R4 would gradually die on me. Freezing after sleeping and not being recognized by the ds. Same thing happened to my M3S. Both my R4s are the spring loaded ones. I plan to ditch my R4 as soon as Acekards come up in other retailers

I had the exact same problem, which solved itself when I got myself another DS..

Yeah same thing here...I used to noticed a freeze up after sleep sometimes, but swapped the DS lite concerned and no problem in months/years.

Edit - "Old" R4 build quality is pretty good, but with the removal of the problem spring in the new version it should now be excellent!

seems solid enough to me. If the build quality was increased then so would the price, then we would be complaining how expensive the r4 was.
