Hacking R4 Card - some questions I need help with

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2DS for my kids that came with an R4 card. I'm not necessarily new to flash cards - I have Everdrives for my NES, SNES and N64 but I haven't used one for a DS before. I'm not sure of the provenance of the card - it is just a plain yellow card, no stickers or labels. I think it is one of these:

R4iSDHC gold pro - (I can't link to the website as I am a new member and it doesn't allow hyperlinks in posts)

but I can't be sure. Good news is, it all seems to be working - I have loaded some ROMs on and they seem to work/save. I have a couple of questions though:

1) The flash card shows in the DS menu as Touch Bomberman Land. Is this expected behaviour or a sign that something isn't quite right? Tapping it launches the flash cart loading screen without issue.

2) With the Everdrives, when you save a game you have to press the reset button on the console before the flash cart writes the volatile save state back to SD card. I am assuming this isn't the case with the R4 card? So when you save in-game, it is writing directly to the micro SD?

1. That is normal. And because it shows bomberman, it is probably r4i gold pro 20xx (from r4isdhc.com) as you stated.
2. Yes, it is writing directly to sd (whener the game needs to save). You also have the ability to use rts (real time save)
Suggestion: Hack your 2ds with your flashcard.

I freely admit the Touch Bomberman thing will probably mildly upset my OCD tendencies but I can live with it!

If the card weren't spoofing a legit game, it wouldn't be able to launch

Also, while you're at it, you should really mod the 2DS altogether, since the r4 Gold Pro you have makes it a piece of cake
