Hacking r4 card not working

I own an r4 card (the text on the card reads: "2017 R4 3DS UPGRADE SDHC Revolution for 3ds dsixl/ll dsl ds Dual-Core Real Time Save" and a link to their website which I can't link because I'm a "new member"). I have never really used it. Recently I tried using it on my 2DS but it doesn't detect it. When I try using it on my DS Lite it freezes at the health and safety screen (with or without an sd card in the r4 card). I tried installing a new kernel onto the card but nothing changed. I also tried using a different SD card but that didn't help either.

I don't know what's wrong with it and I don't know how to fix it, so if you have any ideas or solutions please tell me them.
