Hacking R4 card Help!!!Please im new!!!

yes, note: the root is the card itself. Not inside any folder. Dont copy the .rar file to your card it is useless, it must be extracted first.

i still dont no how to extract either...

I assume you're probably using windows. Okay, probably the easiest thing for you to do is visit http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm and download http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe

That'll give you something that will let you open RAR archives - it's just another compression format, like zip which you may have heard of. It's a way of bundling a whole lot of stuff together into one file and also making it smaller to save downloads or storage space - you probably don't already have anything that will extract rar archives, although recent versions of Windows have had native support for zip archives.

Once you've got the RAR software installed, copy English_1.17.rar somewhere convenient - your desktop will do, just drop it on your desktop.

Once it's there, right-click on it (i.e. move the mouse pointer to it, and press the right mouse button once) and a menu will pop up that includes "Extract to English_1.17\" - select THAT option, and a new folder will be created on your desktop. Open that folder up, then open the one inside it called "English" - it's the contents of THAT one that you want (a couple of folders, a file that probably appears as "_DS_MENU" and one that appears as "_DS_MSHL.NDS")

Now, insert your Micro SD into the reader, and insert the reader into a USB port on your computer. Depending on the version of windows you have and how you've got the autoplay settings set, it might ask you what you want to do with it - if it does, then select the option that's something like "Open folder to view files", it might not be called that exactly but that's what the option you want means. If nothing like that comes up, then go in through "My Computer" and open the USB device - it'll appear just like another disk drive, if your computer is like most people's it'll probably be labelled "E:" or "F:"

Okay so far?

Now, all those files and folders inside "English" (_system_, moonshl, _DS_MSHL.NDS and _DS_MENU) will need to be copied over to the Micro SD card. They should appear in the "root directory" of the SD, i.e. they shouldn't be inside any other folders on the SD card.

Once they've been copied over, close the window for the micro SD card and make sure you properly disconnect the USB reader so you don't end up corrupting its contents. Down towards the bottom right hand corner of your screen - probably just a little to the left of the digital clock in that bar that appears across the bottom of your screen, you should see a little icon that looks like a green circle with a tick in it partly covering a USB plug - click that, then click on the "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device" thing that pops up, remove it all when it says its okay to do so and stick the Micro SD into your R4.
