I have read that some emulators designed for slot-2 carts work better than the ones designed for slot-1 carts. My question is how do you load the emulator/games using the 3-in-1 and the R4. I know with the slot-1 emulators, you can load games from the memory in slot 1, but I am not sure how this works in slot 2 with out its own memory to load games from (3-in-1).

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that for the most part, DS emulators work better than GBA emulators (due to much more processing power).

Most DS emulators (the worthwhile ones anyway) support either slot-1 or slot-2, so I recommend just running them from slot-1. There are a FEW (SNEmulDS and minivmac come to mind) that will use the RAM on slot-2. However, even with those, you can (and should) just run them from slot-1, and the extra RAM should be autodetected.

So don't worry about it. Just run them from slot-1 with your 3-in-1 in slot-2, and everything should be fine.
