in the guide there is the update to 4.2 part first
can you back up your nand in this first part just incase something hapens whilst updating to 4.2
instead of the second part the modify part ?
what if something goes wrong in the first part of the update with no nand backup?
i dont know shit so someone who knows, there must be a reason why its done in the second part
anyone?

yes you can, but you have to have bootmii installed before anything else. as long as u have bootmii u can backup nand. I hate 4.2. but then again i hacked my wii at 3.2

but still wondering why it tells you back the nand in the second part of the guide instead of the first?

Its completely useless to even install bootmii before the 4.2 update

Maybe this is new to you, but the 4.2 update OVERWRITES bootmii with boot2v4
So you'll have to install it again

thanks for clearing that up for me
like i said in my first post i dont know shit thats why im asking
so doing it in the first part would be useless because once 4.2 is installed you cant run an early nand back
so you couldnt restore with it anyway
right?

but now i know a little more thanks to you
cheers man

@ tj cool, what u said isn't 100% accurate, if you have boot2v4 and bootmii installed as boot2, updating via nintendo should not touch your boot2, as it will only attempt to update it if you running boot2v3 and under.

now most people with bootmii as boot2, do not have boot2v4, so chances are 99% of the time, a ninty update will uninstall bootmii as boot2. But if this same person reinstalled bootmii as boot2 after updating to boot2v4, then they try to perform another ninty update (after downgrading to 4.1 or under in order to receive the update) it will not touch their boot2 the second time (as its already boot2v4 w/ bootmii)

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:

@Xdqwerty you can use a "spawner" function on any object.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Or when your player dies, you can say in code, if enemy exists, do nothing, but if enemy does not exist, then create enemy at certain spot. (This would be a pain tho for lots of emeies)

Easiest, simple way would be just restart scene, but player would restart from beginning.
