Hacking Quick question about Wii firmware updating

I need to update my japanese wii, currently use the v288 firmware from brickblock, but it isnt stopping boom blox(JAP) from prompting me to install a firmware.

It stopped american games, but not japanese X_X;

Anyway to stop boom blox?
Did i need to do something to it before burning directly after download?

Use brickbloker to erase the update or the noob friendly (my prefered) WiU1.1.exe, faster and tells you the region and lets you change it..!!
