I had the same issues.
Thanks for the suggestions but none of them worked.

If someone with a PAL Wii has got any of the following NTSC games working, then would they please let me know how:

The Amazing Race, Hollywood Squares, The $1,000,000,000 Pyramid, Family Feud Decades, The Price Is Right Decades, and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
I had the same problem, I eventually just got hold of a PAL version for WWTBAM. Obviously can't do this for the others.

I considered changing my PAL Wii's region, but in the end (thanks to Modmii) I managed to get the USA games working with Neek through ULGX.

My WiiWare and VC games wont load after I put them onto the SD Menu

Is there a better way for me to try and get these games working, like with USBloader?

They will load if u install modmii's recommended system menu IOS

To get them working with usb-loaders you would need to set up and install content to an emulated nand

I'm obviously new to Wii hacking, and want to hack my Wii with both an SD card and USB. I understand that I will need the SD to be formatted to FAT32, but what should I format the USB to? I have tried to put a copy of a game I own onto a FAT32 USB and found the file too large for FAT32, so I can't put the game's nkit.iso I already have onto a FAT32 Drive. Will the Wii work with another USB format that will fit the larger nkit.iso's, or will the usb loader not accept them? Also, will this be an issue with copies of discs I make using the USB loader, or will it automatically sort them out? On a final question, Will the USB copies I make from the loader work with an emulator such as dolphin if put in the folder on my computer?

I guess you mean installing a patched IOS80 to allow running Wiiware off the SD card menu?
Does installing Wiiware games to an emuNAND and using USB Loader GX also need a patched IOS80?

Update - After some testing I've actually managed to answer my own question about Wiiware and Virtual Console games and answered a few more! Here is what I learnt:
1. My testing suggests that if you use USB Loader GX then you don't need a patched IOS80 to play Wiiware or VC games. However, there are many good reasons to have a patched IOS80 anyway.
2. You can use ULGX to dump your NAND to emuNAND, or you can use Modmii to create an empty emuNAND, which is what I suggest is best. Modmii is amazing and also supplys the sneek folder. If using Modmii then copy a cert.sys from your real NAND (or from a dump of your real NAND) into the emuNAND sys folder. You don't need the cert.sys if just using the emuNAND for Wii saves. You can use ULGX wad manager to install Wiiware and VC games into the emuNAND as channels, or use ShowMiiWads to do the same. Then you can play the games in ULGX.
3. For me Wiiware games didn't have any region issues, but VC games did. For VC games from a different region I had to force the video in the ULGX game settings. For a NTSC game on a PAL Wii, set video to 'Force NTSC 480p', and for a PAL game on a NTSC Wii, set 'Force PAL 480p'.
4. It is possible to have one emuNAND for Wii game saves and a separate emuNAND for Wiiware/VC games (channels), because there are separate paths for each in the ULGX settings.
5. It is possible to have the emuNAND on either SD Card or USB hard disk. Modmii is great for creating the necessary files.
6. Not all Wiiware/VC games work with emuNAND, there is a useful compatibility list here: https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_cIOS_EmuNAND_Compatibility_List

This isn't meant to be a guide for Wiiware, just some things I learnt after I finally got Wiiware working after days of hassle, so you know what things to read about if you get stuck.

I've been searching around for the best kind of SD/SDHC card for use (speed, storage space, brand, general age) with homebrewing my old GC-compatible Wii to play Wii and GC games on and've only been finding vague and conflicting answers. I'd rather not waste time, money and stress with trial and error.

A usb hard drive is what you want. Doesn't need to be anything special, it won't work at usb3 speeds even if it's supported by the hard drive because the wii is only usb2

An SD card is useful for the initial softmod process, but after that it's not necessary. You can even do the entire softmod process without an SD card except for installing bootmii and making a nand backup

Hello,

personal opinion:

use a 2gb or 4gb or 8gb SD card, you can install your homebrews on it.

Then as @ XFlak said, use an external hard drive in FAT 32 (capacity 500 GB or 1 T0), preferably maximum 2 T0 and everything will be fine

Depends on how many Wii & GameCube titles you have.

If you have all of the NTSC titles I recommend a 5TB Western Digital Passport or P10 Game Drive. It's a little more to set up a drive larger than 2TB, but well worth it to have everything in one place.

If this interests you follow the instructions here for the 5TB WD drive. It's a little messy but I'll eventually clean it up to focus on the 5TB which is the sweet spot.

Hello there,

After so long I took the dust off my Wii to try some Game Cube classics. To my dismay (and I saw too many others too), the button configuration goes from not very optimal to borderline unplayable. I would want to at least change the X button to the B button, The A button to the Y button, and so on. The "-" button clockwise configuration change, only works "once" (X to A, A to B), falling short still. Is that right? Since I am pretty rusted on tweaking with wiimods, what would be the easiest/most simple way, to get that done?

Thank you so much in advance.

This question has been posted on 3 threads, I think it has been answered here:

Sorry about that, I didn't want to start a thread at first, so asked here, since didn't get noticed did the thread and got the much-appreciated help.
That's OK, just pointing it out so people don't waste their time answering something that is already being addressed. I'm glad some people are helping you.

Hi, I wanted to ask a quick question about Syscheck.
So I ran a Syscheck on my Wii, and I noticed that IOS 70 and 60 shows two revision numbers. I'm not sure why.

So as you can see, IOS60 and IOS70 shows two revisions, why is that? are they modified? btw i'm on 4.3U, so AFAIK these should be stub, right?

Should I do something about it?
Thanks

Hello,

I see that they were used by System Menus 4.1 and 4.2, respectively. But I was confused because they show two rev numbers instead of just one (for example, IOS70 shows rev6912, Info: rev6687, and doesn't say "stub") So I was wondering what caused this and if they were modified or something, but anyways, considering i'm on 4.3u they're useless anyways, right?

They are maybe not useful for your wii (see the opinion of @XFlak , he knows more than me ), but I suggest you not to uninstall them, if you make a mistake to uninstall a bad IOS, it may brick your wii.:teach:

For added security, leave them where they are.

Assuming you are on 4.3, the only system menu IOS you NEED is 80 (ios70 for 4.2, and 60 for 4.1, etc - but always only just 1 system menu IOS slot is used). However, having a functional system menu IOS in these older slots is arguably "extra brick protection" in the event of a user installing a new system menu without the corresponding system menu IOS (which could cause a brick). If only people who know what they're doing have access to advanced homebrew applications, it's not that necessary. And if the console has bootmii installed to boot2, then recovering from a bad/missing system menu or system menu IOS is easy as pie, so again, not that necessary in this scenario.

On another note, if u drag and drop your syscheck.csv onto modmii.exe it will suggest some arguably better system menu IOSs btw, and possibly recommend some other things. Your syscheck that you shared is incomplete, so I can't tell if u have priiloader installed for example.
