Once you get it modded there is a "480p fix" in Priiloader and most homebrew with the 480p fix built in by now. So it really only matters if you're using the Wii as stock. Even so, if you're using a HDMI modded Wii or component cables, it will still look far better than composite 480i.

Dumb question ... so if im using component cables and the "480 fix" from Priiloader, all of that will work on my PHYSICAL games? btw THANK YOU

I think so but other people can hopefully confirm.
Isnt the "480p fix" in Priiloader just for the Wii Menu itself? See: https://github.com/DacoTaco/priiloader/blob/master/docs/FAQ.md games arent affected by that hack.

You can always load your discs through an USB loaders or such tho, that should work i guess to apply those improvements for games? :)

But yeah, that + an component or an good HDMI adapter (like the electron warp) do work for this.

Just remember, its still Just 480p, you wont get higher res. 480p is better than 480i tho. So its worth getting the cable or an adapter. Additionally to 480p, heres what to expect from the patch:

You know, 480i in my tv looks HORRIBLE AF .... 480p will improve that, I know I cannot get higher resolutions but all of these helps me a lot, Thank you :D

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience with a DSI Exception error that had me stuck for days.
No matter what I tried—reinstalling IOS, updating loaders, or using different SD cards—the DSI Exception kept showing up when launching USB Loader GX (and also WiiFlow or when trying to install BootMii).

I finally found out that the real problem was a faulty Nunchuk I had connected to my Wiimote.
Once I unplugged the Nunchuk, everything launched perfectly with no crash at all.

I tested with another official Nunchuk, and it worked fine.
I confirmed that the faulty Nunchuk was the only cause of the crashes.

So if anyone else is experiencing unexplained DSI Exceptions at boot, try unplugging all accessories, especially third-party or faulty Nunchuks.
It could save you a lot of frustration.

Hope this helps someone out there!

question
1 how do i make the nintendon't games show up on wiiflow
i wanna make them appear with covers in the loader to make it look cool and to save time from opening and closing the launcher to enter another

i know it should be possible cause wiiflow has a button for gamecube and an option to chose default launcher

i try to change the path by the wiiflow app but says the folder is empty,

addtional info:
all of my games are converted to nkit.iso format to save space
nintendon't is able to read them perfectly

also 2another question is there any way i can use wii u pro controller with wii games launched by wiiflow (in a vwii)
3 how can i do a syscheck on a wii u vwii since when i open the app it crashes and i must unplug the console

4 should i always try to force wiiflow to run games with cios 251 (vwii 11beta ciosbase 58) i tried to make mario tennis (wii) and skyward sword (wii) run with auto ios in wiiflow and crashed but when i forced them to cios 251 they ran perfectly is there any reason to use another cios instead of this one to run games

I'm using my Wii again, and I've always used it with a Toshiba Canvio 3.0 HDD (the one with a converter board), but now, for convenience, I want to switch to a 256GB USB flash drive. Has anyone had experience with the Samsung Fit Plus 3.1, or what USB drives of this capacity do you use?

What is the program name where the Wii files are being checked if something is wrong, I remember a topic about it a few years ago where people post there outcome of installed IOS and other system files.

How this is called? Don't really know what to search if I don't know the name, because I would like to post my Wii because I think something is wrong.

Hello,
English is not my mother tongue, I hope you will excuse my bad grammar and vocabulary.

Wii console running 3.4E version.
It seems it was never modded. Knowing the previous owners of the console, it was probably never connected to the internet.
In order to backup a few CDs which have seen better days, my understanding is that I need to go through the softmod process using ModMii (that uses the BombLetter exploit) and it should be straightforward. I have read the first message in the pinned thread regarding ModMii and also a couple of online tutorials and of course wii-hacks-guide (I hope it's OK to refer here to this website, as a newbie in this community I can't post links).

My question is -
As the current version is 3.4E, should I first try to update the version to the latest one (4.3E) before modding the console?
I hope it is still possible to update the version.
In order to update - I have a USB to RJ45 adapter. I just connect it to the console (does it matter to which port?) and through the setting menu run the update?

I am a complete newbie to wii, but quite tech savvy.

A few weeks back a family member got this console from his father in law and as I am the "tech person" in the family, I was asked "this and that" and I knew NOTHING. So, I starting diving into guides and slowly learning the jargon. The past few weeks I spent hours upon hours in reading and I am sure there is a lot more reading and understanding to do.

The "gaming world" is a complete new world to me. Up until several weeks ago I have never held in my hand a remote of any kind - not Nintendo, or PS, nor XBOX etc.

I wrote a longer message but the system blocked me from posting it, I will try and add it later.

If the wii was originally Korean and poorly region changed, then an official update will brick it. This probably doesn't apply in you're case if the console has truly never been modded.

That being said, the modmii wizard process will help you simultaneously softmod and update the console, so no need to do an update beforehand. And this method is safe to do even in the rare cases where a console was previously poorly region changed.

Thank you for the quick and comprehensive response.
My relative handed me the Wii in order to go ahead with the modding. I probably won't have time this weekend, but I hope to have time for it next.
Anyway, the device label says "RVL-001 (EUR)" so I assume, as you wrote, that it's not a concern that it's a Korean device that has had a region change.

From your answer, I learned that there's no need to even connect the device to the internet. Just follow the ModMii instructions and the procedure will update the device to the latest version and install the HomeBrew Channel. Did I understand correctly?

From the information I read, in order to do the modding procedure, one needs to have an SD card.
I should have an old MicroSD card with a capacity of 4 or 8 GB and also an adapter from microSD to full size SD. So I assume there shouldn't be a problem using the card.
I also read that this capacity should be sufficient, I hope there shouldn't be any concerns.

In addition, in order to convert the CDs that are currently used so that one can play games without them, it is possible to use an external hard drive, I have one laying around unused with a capacity of 1 or 2 TB.
One point that is not clear to me, after performing the modding procedure, does the SD card have to remain in the device permanently or once the modding is performed, there is no longer any need for the memory card to be inside the device.
That is, is the installation performed directly "on the device" or does the card have to remain in the device in order to enjoy the modding products.
If it has to remain in the device, is it worth purchasing a new card? Is there a preference for a certain type? A certain capacity?

Thank you

Generally you understood correctly. However, an SD card is only required to install bootmii. Everything else can be done using either USB or SD (or neither for some things). After the console is modded, you don't NEED to keep an SD or usb in the Wii, but you probably would want to have one or the other or both in order to have access to your games. In your position, best to use your existing sd card for the initial softmod, then later either use that in addition to a hard drive, or just a hard drive. In the future you would only NEED to use an SD card again in the unlikely event you need to restore a nand backup to recover from a semi-brick.
