Figured that this is the best place to ask this

2 questions related to the charge cradle.

1) can a DSi charger fit into the cradle port?
2) if i were to buy the 3DS from amazon (US), and the charger given is 110V, can the cradle accept 230V which is the voltage supplied in singapore?
1) yes, the charger port is the same as the dsi, there is no reason at all, why you cant.
2) if you mean using a singapore dsi charger on it, then yet it works. no matter the charger version, the output to the 3ds is 5v. so if it gets 230v, it turns that to 5v.

1) you said charger port, I suppose it's on the 3DS itself. I actually mean by the cradle port. Is the cradle port and the charging hole on the 3DS the same?

2) you see, USA uses 120 V, 60 Hz while Singapore uses 230 V, 50 Hz. I wonder if the cradle (from the US set) actually accepts 100 V - 240 V, 50/60 Hz or just 120 V. That is what I'm unsure of.

There is a plug socket on the 3ds the same size as the nds lite one. You can plug it right into the system. The cradle has the same size socket and you can choose to plug it into the cradle and have your 3ds sitting on it.

But any idea if the CRADLE accepts multiple voltages like phone chargers? I want to charge it on the cradle, looks cooler

The cradle accepts the same 5v input that the DSi and 3DS accept. The voltage is transformed at the box that plugs into the wall.

Sorry I'm a noob at this, worried that since I'm going to buy from the US, the cradle might be in fire if I plug it in our outlet

the hinge is extremly on the loose side on the 3ds. even if the topscreen is clicked into one of the two positions the screen is not really fixed in place and moves back and forth a lot, like 5-10mm or so.
can this be confirmed?

If you have a cable that works in Singapore to charge a DSLite or DSi, then you can plug that cable into the 3DS or the cradle and it will work.
The point at which you have to worry about voltage is the transformer that plugs into the power point in the wall.
That's the thing that is likely to melt or catch on fire if anything is going to.
It is made to change either 110V to 5V, or 230/240V to 5V.
I'm pretty sure America uses a different shape of wall plug than Singapore anyway, so chances are you won't be able to plug an American charger into the wall in your hosue in Singapore.

American plug types are no worries; adapters can be easily bought here at low prices. Anyway, ALL 3rd party DSi chargers sold here are using the two prong American type-A plug accepting voltages of 100 - 240V, 50/60 Hz. So, I can just get one of those and plug it into the cradle (since I'm selling my XL off)

ONE QUESTION (more of a request though)

Can someone help me check the 3DS charger from the US set, what is the voltage input? I want to buy beforehand before mine arrives if the input is 120 V, 60 Hz.

nah, the symbol for it is already in your menu, it just says you have to wait for an update to use it.
Having it for free on the DSi and DSi XL, then charging people on the 3DS would be kind of dumb.

Yeah, it's to stop it snapping when you car drives over a speed bump at any speed greater than 2 miles per hour.

Mostly a novelty, just use moonshell.

I still use 1.71, lol. Really need to update.

Well moonshell needs a big microsd to make the 3DS ipod-ish, while the DS itself can use a big sd card which is expensive but is cheaper than microsd's lol
