Homebrew [Question] Related to 3ds extdata dump and downgrading

I want to keep my MHX save and downgrade
and now I am on 9.1J and havent dump my save from the sd card yet...
should I upgrade back to 10.3J and then use extdata dump in 10.3J?
or it is just the same if i do the extdata dump action on 9.1J?
