Hacking Question Regarding My Purchase

lol. one of the stranger questions. that's a standard generic msd reader, that is not the supercard ds2. don't worry, you won't be inserting that into your ds.

Looks like it will be, but the ones they include with flash carts are the cheapest, crappiest ones you can get. They tend to corrupt cards and break quickly, we don't recommend them.

i have used the same kingston reader since the very start and it has never failed me. you can usually grab one with a 2gb msd card for under $5.

I'd just like to say, I've been using the generic MicroSD card reader that came with my (presumably) reproduction R4 since I got it back in 2009 (you can see it here - my R4 actually came in that exact packaging)), and it has never failed me. Not one problem. Then again, maybe flash cards used to come with slightly more reliable readers than they do anymore. This one even went through the wash and still works fine.

Still consider picking up another, of course, but don't feel like you have to drop over $10 on one either.

Yeah the reader that came with my AK2i was notably cheaper, and it died in a few months. Luckily I don't remember any filesystem damage.

personally I've used the cheap microsd card reader that came with flashcards for years without ever having issues with files corrupting or the reader dieing. Heck, I got my supercard dstwo when it came out and I still use the reader just about every day. No point spending more money on one when it works perfectly fine.

my r4 one did not fall apart till last month

it lasted longer than the r4 it self
