Hacking [QUESTION] Is it safe to dump retail carts with uncart9?

Hi gbatemp, the current question is basically the header, headers, regarding that can you extract the private header from it? If so, id like to sell them on that certain iso site, for people with GW/Sky3DS.

I dumped oot3d and mk7 with the gateway dumper a while back and converted them to cias. They work perfectly.

same as braindump, iirc
just use the gateway launcher, it make perfect dump

Uncart won't dump private headers. You'll need to use Gateway's Launcher for this. And no, you don't need a Red Card to just dump your games.

An alternative to dump private headers, is to use Powersaves.

Gateway launcher.dat. You don't need the flashcart itself to use the dump feature.
Go to address 0x1200 in the dumped .3ds in a hex editor for the 16 byte "private header".

Are we allowed to link//upload Gateway stuff? I thought there was a rule against that. Huh.

Anyways, yeah, using Gateway ROM Patcher should help you get the Private Header out of those dumps. Also, remember that only one person should ever be using the same "private" header, otherwise, it's no longer "private."

As long as you what you dumped has address 0x1200, size 0x48 (to be safe) in somewhere in the file. That's the only unique part.
