Gaming Question about the update

I haven't picked up my wiiu yet and i was wondering if you are able to pause the wiiu update at all? Im asking because i might have to go to a public network and update it from there.

Pause it by unplugging your internet.

Also, you can go to Download Management in the home menu and pause it there too.

I would just suggest getting to a place that you can download the whole thing in one go, it will take you approximately an hour and a half (average internet connection speed)

Ya, people have bricked their consoles by trying to interrupt the software update. If you want to be able to pause it, skip the upgrade during setup, and then the update will download in the background whenever the Wii U is connected to the internet, and then you can install it once it is done downloading. Make sure to not disconnect power to your Wii U while the update is installing.

If I remember correctly, the Download Management icon didn't appear until after the launch day update.
