Hacking Question about saves with Gateway 3DS

I finally got my Gateway in the mail, and I love this thing already. I mean, I've only played one game on it but still. My games work flawlessly, and I understand the procedure it takes to save the game (Home > Close). I only have one SDHC card I can use per every game, and I'm concerned if I will be able to keep my save file for any game if I were to swap games.

My question is, if I were to have say a Mario Kart 7 save, and I wanted to switch to Star Fox or something, would I be able to use my MK7 again if I were to switch back to it?

Yes, as long as you don't swap the SD card that you use for the 3DS itself.
