Gaming Question about Macs

I know that if you delete System32 on Windows, your computer is destroyed. Is there some equivalent for Macs? I'm just curious, I DO NOT plan on destroying any Macs.

Could be the "/Library", "/System/Library" and "/Users//Library" folders, but I doubt that it'll let you delete those. I also don't know which would be the worst.

No, I just thought of it. And apparently, Windows doesn't do it's job right. I actually have deleted System32 on a computer before, and it did wreck it.

Yeah, I think if you remove /Library, you're screwed.

Deleting system32 doesn't "destroy" the computer, just deletes files the operating system needs to boot. Unless Macs protect their system files from deletion, the same thing would probably happen.

Not hard to put a disc in and install another OS though.

Well you certainly must have gone a crazy roundabout way of deleting it if what you say is true...

First, as you see, you cannot do it through explorer.
Secondly, files there are in use (obviously) and will need to be "unlocked", requiring the use of some specialized program.
Thirdly, some files there belong to the machine itself (which I think is the same as "local administrator"), which is has higher rights level than even the hidden administrator account, so you'd have to have a way to switch their ownership over to you.

So unless you did it on a machine before 2K/XP, you're lying about windows not doing it's job to stop deletion of that folder.

Don't repeat things just because other people say them. Check info out yourself first.
Most of what everybody says about computers is bullshit, or hasn't been true in 10 years.

I just typed the following, saved it as a .bat file, and ran it.

yes you can. it's not as easy to mess up as in windows. deleting user libraries won't do anything because they regenerate. so do most files in the system library.

this works on linux, so will probably work on a mac, type this into a terminal window.

sudo rm -rf /

you will need the password for mac though.

This will delete everything, well, until the kernel panics from deleting itself.

it is worth noting that on windows

rd /s /q c:

does something similar

Lastly, if you just want to crash a linux computer or a mac, try

:(){ :|:& };:

this continuously creates new processes.
