Question is Dying Light Defintive Edition and Blade Runner are both on deep sales atm and they arent even on the store in my country (Australia). Just wondering is it possible to just buy a $20 US gift card from play-asia,, change my region to the US from Nintendo's website, redeem the ecard and grab what i want from their, and just change my region back to australia without creating a new account (do not care about forfeiting a dollar or two honestly). Or do i have to create a new us based account from scratch and do it that way like all the muppet guides on the net keep telling me. Just you guys then a bunch of shills on fake gaming websites. Thanks for your time everyone, hope to get a definitive answer to it.

It's been 4 years since I last did this (EU/JPN) so maybe things have changed.

You can create another profile and register it in that region and start buying what you like.
Changing your current account to another region did not work for me.
You either need a digital eshop card for that region or a credit card that works in that region.
Note that not all cards work everywhere and prepaid cards (even with the VISA logo) aren't accepted everywhere.
Even had problems with a normal VISA card from 1 bank but another worked fine.
A local Nintendo card probably works best.
My advise would be to just start off with a low value Nintendo card and check if it still works before buying a big card.

At the time I didn't even need a VPN but if you really would like to make it look like you're in that region,
just get a cheap VPN. Maybe using no VPN in certain regions is also the reason why some people reported that it didn't work for them.

You can change the eShop region but if the game isn't "world" or US/EU region it won't show as purchased on your region eShop, and you might not be able to download updates and DLC without having the account set to the right region.
Best to make a separate account I think.

I'm not looking at buying much stuff from their just Dying Light Defintive Edition which comes with ALL the DLC ever released for it so i dont have to worry about that with it, Blade Runner Enhanced Edition which doesnt come with any dlc, and maybe Powerslave to round out the $20 USD card ill buy which again doesnt have any dlc. And yeah i was planning to get a $20 USD card from play-asia since they are the most legitimate site on the web really apart from nintendo themselves to buy one without worrying about some shithead using stolen credit cards to pay for them. I do have a VPN already (cyberghost), and changed my region to the US then tried using paypal but no dice. So this is the route i think ill take. There really isnt anything else on the US store that isnt already on the Australian one i want, and pricing is no cheaper on there anyway, hell the US store might be slightly more expensive with the current exchange rates. I do however appreciate the messages back, as long as i dont get a console/account ban for doing it ill go through with it on tuesday. I don't see how im doing anything illegal or illlegitimate though. I am buying the games through nintendos own shop on a normal eshop (not some shady one like the argentinian one) and not getting third party cdkeys or anything

The only way you could get banned is if it turned out the eShop card was purchased through fraud and it was reported to Nintendo. So maybe don't use sites like G2A for that but Play-Asia is fine.

Thanks and yeah i wouldnt use G2A if it was the last gaming site on earth. The only other site i was considering was instant-gaming which i have bought dozens of steam games from in the past with no issues but with my switch 2, i would rather pay an extra few dollars and not be worried about any of that ban crap in the future.

Only one more question i have that i havent figured out. If i was to get a US eshop card, change my region to the US, get the games i want then change it back to australia, if i delete the game from my sd card and want to redownload it, do i have to change my region back to the US to do it or can i redownload it from my virtual memory cards without having to like any game i buy off the australian one?
