Back when devs had very limited HW power they had to be extremely smart when making games. It's no news that the GBA could handle 3D of this caliber (keep in mind that even though It received Snes ports for the entirety of its lifespan power-wise It's very close to PS1). There's also this truck game which was fully 3D. I can't remember the name. But it did came out during the console's lifespan. Also an Asterix and Obelix game was on the same boat. If you love this kind of content, I highly suggest you to check out Coding Secrets on Youtube, as he shows lots of tricks that he used in some of his games (mainly Sonic R and the Mickey Mouse game for Snes/MD)

Yes. I like that they were writing in assembly. This allows for way more sufficiant code. I wish assembly would be more relevant today. I think with assembly coding you could have great games on low tech portable (I can't tolerate high EMF devices) consoles. I wish there was a market for a sturdy low tech portable with assembly code games.

MVG literally explains how it was accomplished in that video, so "how is this possible" is redundant if you just watch the video.
I'm not able to atm but I hope to find out someday :gba:

Also, original post asks question which the video answers.
Maybe you should take a nap

Okay, but if he reads this, he should do densha de go! next. Its an awesome game.

I would love to play this but the controller is >$100USD on eBay

I gather there are a number of prototypes for Quake on the GBA. The prototype online seems to be just a tech demo but I have also seen videos of E1M1 running on the GBA but not sure where to find a ROM for this?
