I find this quake port even more impressive. Unfortunatly the GBA has only two facebuttons.Really smart coding that makes the most of the system. See the recent homebrew Tomb Raider port.
Yes. I like that they were writing in assembly. This allows for way more sufficiant code. I wish assembly would be more relevant today. I think with assembly coding you could have great games on low tech portable (I can't tolerate high EMF devices) consoles. I wish there was a market for a sturdy low tech portable with assembly code games.Back when devs had very limited HW power they had to be extremely smart when making games. It's no news that the GBA could handle 3D of this caliber (keep in mind that even though It received Snes ports for the entirety of its lifespan power-wise It's very close to PS1). There's also this truck game which was fully 3D. I can't remember the name. But it did came out during the console's lifespan. Also an Asterix and Obelix game was on the same boat. If you love this kind of content, I highly suggest you to check out Coding Secrets on Youtube, as he shows lots of tricks that he used in some of his games (mainly Sonic R and the Mickey Mouse game for Snes/MD)

Yeah, and if there would have been more interest it could have been released during it's lifecycle. It would have left the competition in the dust.It honestly shocks me that we may have had Quake on the GBA...

Speaking of Tomb Raider on the GBA, OpenLara is your answer to this.
See this video:

uuuhhhhh... i'm NOT the author of OpenLara xDOkay. Now do densha de go! on the GBA

I'm not able to atm but I hope to find out somedayMVG literally explains how it was accomplished in that video, so "how is this possible" is redundant if you just watch the video.
