but early PStwo's had overheating problems and bad disk readers

Waits for sony to put back in ps2 compatability .... seriously why did they even take it out.

Considering how cheap the PS2 is, Sony won't be in a hurry to put back backward compatibility. I expect Sony to resell PS2 games on PSN like they are already doing to PS1 games.

Sony has hardly denied the existence of the PS3 Slim with cease & desist letters from the OEM manufacturer, points to it being real.

I reckon they will make the official PS3 FAT price around £199.99 - £249.99 and the slim around £299.99 - £399.99

PS1 and PS2 game support wil make or break it for me here. I doubt it will have the chip like 60GB PS3s now, but I'll keep dreaming. I'll own a PS3 some day....

That's sorta what I was thinking too. I don't have a PS2 right now, so if the slim has good PS2 bc, I'll probably look into getting one. Still don't have a blu-ray player either, so maybe I'll talk myself into it.

if you guys can, buy the smallest GB ps3 possible, bcuz for the fats, they sell 80 for $400 and 160 for $500. when you can just go online and buy a 320 GB for like $80 lol. save yourself some $

The console is gonna stay in one place. On it's own shelf under the television.

It's not like the PS3 feels like it needs to lose weight

i still don't think price is a very big concern to ppl but actually games for the ps3, the market does not have superb games in bulk for it unlike 360
price drop is an attraction but the real issue is games IMO (ofcourse i may not know anything)
